We had the good fortune of connecting with Bentli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bentli, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I don’t think that there is a time to give up. When you pursue starting a business or a creative career you have to have grit. Most importantly, it should be something you would do for free. I have been challenged because I have a full time “alternative” job that pays my bills until my creative career provides enough for me to live on.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most exited to see my work in physical form when it is viewed by my peers. I feel like the the most important thing that I’ve learned on my journey is that you have to be patient and capture the love and spirit of an event.. As a digital artist my special gift is timing. I want to snap the picture at the moment when a valuable memory is being made. I am not a great speaker, but I view myself as an exceptional creative talent.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Pittsburgh, my hometown, has many great places to visit. I mainly like to take hikes on the trails around town, but time spent hanging out at my house relaxing with friends, exchanging and sharing memories is one of my personal joys.. When I go out with friends, it is sometimes great to venture forth without a destination. That may sound strange, but there are always new bars and views to experience and it’s fantastic to do it with friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my family and close friends. They have been my inspiration and you can see it in my work. i have always had a passion for catching the essence of the people around me. My professional goal is to create memories that will last forever. When I was 18 I went through the family photos at my grandma’s house. I saw visions of the past that impacted my family long before I was born. It was amazing! I experienced the story of my family through her eyes. which inspired me to want to capture my story and the world around me. Being a visual storyteller emerged as the profession I will pursue for the rest of my life,
