We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella Blaq and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bella, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When someone asks me about the thought process behind starting my own businesses, Bella’s Unicorn Palace and Bel Vintaje, I always come back to the idea of making a way for myself and creating generational wealth and knowledge for my kids and family. For me, it’s also about creating memories for people who dream and providing motivation for those who need it.

As a teen mom, things were tough, balancing work and taking care of home. It wasn’t easy. But I’ve always known I like to dance to the beat of my own drum, and I wanted to be a mogul, paving my own path. This journey has been about empowerment—empowering myself, my family, and the community around me by showing that it’s possible to build something meaningful, even when the odds are stacked against you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is simply that I am who I am. I was strategically designed by God to be me—I’m golden. I’m proud of the growth in my music, and I’m super excited to announce that I’m a new co-star for P-Valley Season 3. This is a true blessing.

I got to where I am today by never stopping—constantly learning, being open to guidance, and trusting that things will unfold as they are meant to. It hasn’t been easy, especially after losing everything in 2019 and being told I would never walk again. That was a challenging moment, but I persevered.

Through it all, I’ve learned many lessons, with the most important being to always move with grace because love wins. I want the world to know that I’m arriving, and I’m here to be a light—to encourage people who feel and look like me, to let them know that we are here, and we can and will achieve greatness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, we’d stop by Saints and Council, one of my favorite restaurants, to grab a bite to eat. Then, we’d check into a hotel, preferably something close to home for convenience. After that, we’d hit up the nearest liquor store to stock up on some Cayman Jacks, Hennessy, and Villon France to enjoy back at the room while we chill.

Over the next few days, we’d start our mornings with breakfast at Nana’s Breakfast Spot. We’d make sure to visit a nearby waterfall for some nature vibes. Of course, we’d stop by my stores because the grind never stops! I might even take my friend on set with me for a day at P-Valley—that would be an experience to remember.

We’d do some shopping at thrift stores like Park Avenue, which is one of my favorite spots, and maybe check out a new spot in Atlanta called Damsel. To unwind, we’d have a spa day, followed by a relaxing picnic in nature, making sure to soak up all the good vibes over the course of the week

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my kids, who have been my anchor and inspiration through it all. They are my biggest motivation to keep pushing forward.

I’ve also been deeply inspired by Cicely Tyson’s book; it’s been such a blessing to learn and grow from her wisdom and experiences as a Black woman. Fya Man has been incredibly supportive of me, believing in me in so many ways, and I’m grateful to have him in my corner. Recently, I’ve also been fortunate to adopt Rodney Jerkins as a mentor, alongside Bangladesh and Al Branch, who have all guided me in my journey. My fav Jay z has been a huge influence with his mogul mindset, and of course, my fans—without them, none of this would be possible. I’m truly nothing without their love and support.
