We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky Kiper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Becky, how does your business help the community?
We have worked over the last year to bring awareness to the importance of self care to our community. We provide a space for people to be, heal and relax. We offer a variety of alternative healing modalities, treatments and events for people who are looking for ways to calm the storms in their every day lives.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Saltville Grotto is a place like no other for sure! We offer a chilled & laid back vacation vibe. Our owner is originally from Florida and I lived on the Gulf coast for many years. We both missed easy access to the beach, so we brought the beach vibe to the heart of Snellville.
Every day has been a learning experience. We are blessed by sharing heart-felt experiences with our clients on a daily basis. Yes, we do offer spa services, but it’s about the experience at Saltville that sets us apart. Our employees are genuine, caring and attentive. We want to make sure that everyone feels seen, heard, and accepted. Customer service is our #1 priority. (P.S. – we call the employees our Flockstars and we are a bit obsessed with Flamingos).
It hasn’t been easy but it has been soulfully rewarding like no other “job” I’ve ever had. People come to us looking for peace and they find it.
We’ve learned a lot of things along the way:
1. Patience is a virtue.
2. Flexibility and adaptability are necessary when running a business.
3. It all works out if you trust.
4. Authenticity is key.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I would bring them to Saltville for a spa day and a nap in the salt cave!
The Georgia Aquarium is a must visit – it is like no other….those whale sharks!!!
I would take them to breakfast at the Main Street Restaurant in Snellville. It is by far the best home-cooking restaurant in the area that I have found. Their French toast is SO GOOD. If you go at lunch, I love the homemade chips with a side of the best Tzatziki sauce on the planet!
A walk up or around Stone Mountain Park is always a lovely adventure as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my cousin Betsey Grady. She opened my path to healing, understanding and growth. I would not be who I am without her guidance, love and friendship.
