We had the good fortune of connecting with Babe Animal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Babe, how do you think about risk?
I embrace taking risks because when you create your own identity you cant afford to rely on blending in. When you look at successful artists, legends or brands that we grew up with, they all took risks to be leaders and innovators creating your own lane and brand. As an independent Artist that created my own sound “Trap-Rock” I had no choice but to take a risk. This played such a major role in my life because my music does not fit into any 1 specific genre. Trap Rock crosses all genres and sometimes that can be a risk when you don’t fit into a box.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art cannot be defined or thrown into a simple cookie cutter box. My music is a reflection of my soul…my shadows. my past …my journey and the fantasies of my dreams. What sets me apart from others is that I didnt come with a remote…therefore, I cannot be controlled. Another thing that sets me apart from other artists is that i can actually sing live without auto tunes and sound exactly like I do on the record. I have been blessed to share the stage and open for legends like Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Boyz II Men to Carrrie Underwood, Maroon 5, Smashing Pumpkins & Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. People have no clue how many years of practicing, and dedicating every cell in your body to your craft must happen for your name and reputation to become hot and in demand. I cannot sell a fake dream and say that following your dream is easy. I have taken losses and gotten kicked down more times than I can count but the thing that I am the most proudest of is that I never ever gave up on my dream or on myself. The biggest lesson I learned is that this business is based on strong relationships and your word. I learned to say yes to every sensible opportunity when I was younger that most people would say no to because they were too focused on chasing a check versus chasing chances and risks that lead to long term relationships and opportunities that money could never buy. The main thing I want the world to know about me and my story is that I chose to make FEAR my B!tch!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was showing a friend the “Real Atlanta” as a native I would take them to the Blue Flame, Then Clermont and East Atlanta and Beltline the next day on Ponce City Rooftop. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Whole Team deserves a shout out. My circle is tighter than two butt cheeks squeezed together on a first date. I’m grateful for my Manager, Walt Cusick, My Executive partner Jonavon Stephens, My engineer-Mixer Ralph C. My entire production team and lead Producer Justin Padron . My entire band lead by my Music Director David Whild. My film team Harold Sellers and Photographer David Rams. My sister for her support in life and music.
