We had the good fortune of connecting with B. Trenton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi B., why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Not to sound “deep” but honestly, it seems like one of those things that was destined. It’s like I can’t see beyond the fact I love creating music but something bigger than me wants me to make music. The adage “If you love something, let it go. If it returns, it’s yours” definitely applies. I let the music go multiple times but it always came back to me. I can’t escape it and I finally realized that I don’t want to.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I feel like what sets me apart is a mixture of things. The first thing is I’m a student first, I never feel like I’ve learned everything and I’m always looking to learn and hear constructive criticism. Also, I know exactly who I am and only look to provide reflections of that man. I of course hope people resonate with the music but I’m never looking for validation, there’s a difference. I’ve learned a lot of lessons and will continue to but ultimately I’ve found that discipline, self-awareness, and patience are not recommended but required for this field to maintain any type of longevity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m pretty low-key so I appreciate certain pockets in the city when they aren’t crowded. Little 5 Points is my favorite spot to just walk around. Grab some beers at The Porter, get some food at Corner Tavern, and check out Moods Music & Criminal Records. Gotta hit The Beltline near James Room and Pour that’s another one of my fav spots to just chill and grab drinks. I like Inman Park for chilling and eating, Delbar is probably my fav spot to eat down there but I bar hop over there too. Definitely gotta hit Top Golf up too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a lot of people who I credit but I wouldn’t have even had the opportunity to meet them if it wasn’t for the first person who saw in me what I didn’t. Ms. Della Harvey, I love you, I miss you, and I appreciate you.
