We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayzha Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayzha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When our family matriarch was in a severe automobile accident the level of support we received was immense. We wanted to “give back” in a way that was genuine and could make an impact. In late 2021, we founded “Strut For TBI Awareness”. Our goal when we founded Strut For TBI awareness, was to spread awareness and offer assistance within the TBI (Traumatic brain injury) survivor community. We strive to provide the level of love and support we received, to those who may not be as fortunate. In the coming years we hope to become a 501C3 and host more than one event each year.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our first fashion show will be on November 5th in Atlanta, GA. We have committed to raising $10,000 for the GA RSVP clinic. A clinic that provides outpatient services to uninsured TBI and spinal cord victims within the state of GA. 5 designers will share their collections during an evening of gratitude. We will also share the stories of TBI victims across the United States and honor the GA RSVP clinic’s work. Planning and executing our first fundraiser fashion show has been a learning experience. Remaining positive and keeping our goal in mind has been key to our success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of our favorite places to take visiting guests is Ponce City market. The mix of food, shopping and beautiful scenery is always a good time. We’d also take them to the Original house of pancakes for breakfast and the Metro Cafe diner for dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate our shoutout to those who supported us in many ways during my mother’s recovery. My grandfather, the community at Ahava and Ahavath Achim Synagogue, Tietra and family, uncle Mont and Magan, Tommy, Sharay and Tyrin, my Godmother Kathy, aunt Jenn, and most importantly, The Shepherd Center. You all created a space where our family felt loved and supported throughout my mother’s recovery… and for that, I am eternally grateful.
