We had the good fortune of connecting with Aundrya Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aundrya, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am originally from Gainesville, Florida, where I grew up with both parents and I’m the oldest of three children. While I don’t despise the way my parents raised me, I grew up in a very strict, religious and structured environment. We were your typical church going family and both of my parents were ministers, so the bar was raised high as it pertained to expectations and rules I had to follow. While there are many good things that I learned from my upbringing, my background set the tone in many ways for how I approach the way I live my life. While I still have my faith in God, I no longer live according to religious systems that do nothing more than control who you are and what you can be. Breaking free helped me find my true identity and that freedom is illustrated in everything I do with my writing, podcasting, business, etc.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner and founder of Impact Writing LLC, where I help my clients write words that will leave a mark! I initially started the business in August of 2016 and I registered it as an LLC with the State of Georgia in October of 2020. Currently, I offer a variety of writing services including but not limited to editing/proofreading, tutoring, ghostwriting, etc. I ultimately want to expand my business and turn it into a publishing company so that new authors have a safe space to come and have their work published. I started this business the same year I became a self-published author, and my ultimate goal has been to provide the support to new writers who are starting out in ways that will boost their confidence and give them the momentum they need to push out their book and even discover what areas of writing suits their own business and personal endeavors the best. I started out not having support from anyone and had to learn so much on my own, and if it wasn’t for the passion I had and being able to believe in myself, I would have given up. While I have not arrived and the journey has been long, I can look back on how far I’ve come and know with all assurance that my past doesn’t dictate what my ultimate destination will be! I know greater days are ahead! As I continue to build, I aim to share what I have learned with those who will benefit and lend a helping hand to men and women around the world so that they can reach their goals. With the right funding, I am confident that I will take my business and brand to the next level in a way that will exceed all of my expectations. The biggest lesson I have learned on my journey is to always be your own biggest cheerleader and remain passionate about everything you do because if you’re not excited about what you have, no one else will be either. I remind myself that it starts with me!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am very much a homebody and I haven’t experienced the city life as most people have. However, if a friend came to visit, we would spend most of our time in Cobb County at The Battery and we would go shopping at different outlets between Kennesaw and Alpharetta, and eat at Bay Breeze or Harold’s.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to start by giving honor to my late mother, Minister Linda D. Collins-Richardson. Prior to her unfortunate passing, my mother was my biggest supporter, influence, and inspiration! All of my endeavors as an author, entrepreneur, etc, started with her because she pushed me to be great and she always believed in me, even when I couldn’t believe in myself. Honoring her legacy by fulfilling my purpose keeps me going. I also want to thank all of my followers and supporters who have and continue to support my business and my work as a self-published author.
