Hi Aubrey, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
HomeLogic Healthcare provides assistance to the community by providing a range of home care services for medically fragile children that are tailored to meet the unique needs of these children. Examples of the medical diagnoses that we suppot include, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, traumatic brain injuries and many others. These services are provided at no cost to the child’s family. Our support extends to various facets including skilled nursing services for those who require medical care at home, such as wound care, medication management, and monitoring of chronic conditions. HomeLogic Healthcare also provides personal care services to help individuals with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, enabling them to maintain a level of independence while receiving necessary support. We also provide educational resources, workshops and training to families, helping them understand and manage their child’s care effectively. Lastly, HomeLogic Healthcare also engages in community initiatives and events to raise awareness about home healthcare needs and support systems available, fostering a stronger, more informed community.These services collectively enhance the quality of life for medically fragile children that require medical care at home and support their families in managing their child’s needs regardless of the family’s income.

HomeLogic Healthcare is a company that specializes in providing comprehensive home care solutions. Our goal is to deliver personalized, high-quality care that enables individuals to live comfortably in their own homes.

Our highly skilled team is composed of experienced and compassionate registered nurses as well as licensed practical nurses. Continuous learning and development ensure that our staff are up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends in healthcare.

Starting HomeLogic Healthcare was far from easy. Like many entrepreneurial ventures, we faced numerous challenges, from navigating licensing and regulatory requirements to building a trusted reputation in a competitive market. Compliance with healthcare regulations can be complex and daunting. We invested in legal and compliance expertise early on to ensure that our operations met all necessary standards.

Establishing credibility in the home care sector required us to focus heavily on delivering exceptional care and building strong relationships with our client’s and their families. We were able to do this by building upon our previous experience working within Georgia’s K-12 schools and university system. We are no strangers when it comes to working with children, their parents and their schools. Parents have trusted us for years in the education space and they continue to do so now that we are in the home care space as well.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise?
My journey to founding HomeLogic Healthcare is a testament to having a diverse skillset and unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact. Initially, I pursued my interest in healthcare by attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), renowned for its nationally ranked medical programs. My goal was to become a pediatrician, driven by a deep desire to improve children’s lives through direct medical care.
However, during this time at UAB, my perspective evolved. I realized that by shifting my focus from treating individual children to educating them and future teachers, that I could potentially reach and influence a much larger number of children. This led me to a rewarding career in education, where I spent several years teaching and developing training programs for educators with the Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center at Kennesaw State University. Those training programs were implemented in several school districts throughout Georgia and are still being implemented today, five years after my departure.
Not one to rest on my laurels while holding multiple degrees, I was a forward thinker that was ahead of my time and became a pioneer in K-12 online education before it became widely known and utilized as we know it today. This equipped me with advanced skills in integrating technology into educational settings. Several years later my curiosity and drive for innovation later led me to Georgia Tech, allowing me to evolve into a full stack software development professional.. This technical training was pivotal, enabling me to combine my educational background with cutting-edge technology.

HomeLogic Healthcare is the culminating product of my diverse experiences and aspirations. This venture represents a full-circle realization of my initial undergraduate goal of improving children’s lives, but through a new lens. HomeLogic Healthcare blends my home care knowledge, educational expertise, and technological proficiency to offer comprehensive, innovative solutions in home health care.

3 Lessons Learned

1. Adaptability is Crucial: The healthcare landscape is ever-evolving, and being flexible allows us to stay ahead of changes and continuously improve our services. Being an accomplished musician I credit music for helping to develop a wide range of cognitive, psychological, academic, organizational and personal development skills that provided benefits in each of the various aspects of my life. This journey illustrates the power of adapting one’s career path based on evolving passions and interests, ultimately leading to the creation of a venture that integrates all of my skills and experiences for the greater good.

2. Patient-Centered Focus: Always prioritizing the needs and preferences of our clients has been key to our success. Listening and responding to feedback helps us refine our approach and deliver better care.

3. Building a Strong Team: Investing in our staff and fostering a supportive work environment has been vital. A motivated and skilled team directly impacts the quality of care we provide.
