We had the good fortune of connecting with Aspen Kennedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aspen, what do you attribute your success to?
Having a humble and steadfast faith in God. I say this because every single opportunity I’ve been able to embrace came to me in an indescribable way; beyond my previous simple understandings. There is a story behind every project I’ve worked on in my career. However, I’ll share my most recent one.
To begin, I’ll start off by sharing the result. I am currently working on an action film opposite Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo, Kevin Dillon, Leon and many other household names. Right now, it’s anticipated release is February 2022.
Now, to what happen a day prior to getting the call. Well, not even 24 hours. Maybe 15 hours or so, I was dealing with a dear family matter that brought me to a low place of hurt and frustration. To the point where (from an emotional standpoint) I felt like quitting and began to question my purpose. Although, it was only a temporary moment, it weighed heavy. Little did I know, I’d be getting a call that soon to work on one of the biggest films I’ve worked on to-date.
Even when it’s challenging to grasp at times, I do believe that things are always happening for us, rather to us. Even when we don’t physically see the proof that we expect to see, God is ever near and He cares for us. So now I find comfort in believing that nothing we ever experience in life goes wasted and that ultimately God always knows best and what is best for us.
To sum this up, a very important factor is allowing patience and faith to encourage our experiences by trusting that whatever is meant for us will not pass us by.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art allows me to understand others and the world around me more intimately; all the while learning more about myself.
Being an actor takes a lot of courage. No matter what, I have to keep myself uplifted. There have been many times that I’ve faced rejection. So regarding sacrifices, I’d have to say that they are mainly emotional and spiritual. I say this because it takes a lot of faith and a lot more faith. Not booking a job can be a downer sometimes, but anyone who is on this journey must never lose sight of the desired end-result and the fact that all things work together.
So, I think what sets me apart is how I am able to handle the measure of faith that’s given to me while also encouraging and inspiring others by that same measure.
“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” – Kobe Bryant
If anything, I want the world to know that all things are possible and that every opportunity I’ve ever received was only accomplished by God’s orchestration.
