We had the good fortune of connecting with Asiia Marvelous and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Asiia, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
I don’t have a end goal! I say this because I plan on being successful for a very long time. My long term goals, however, are to travel around the world doing makeup for everyone. To have my work shown on billboards, in movies, tv shows & to have celebrity clients. I’m currently working on some big collaboration projects that’ll put me on the map.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art comes from a natural, pure, elegant & overall MARVELOUS place. My makeup is beyond beautiful but its the experience I give my clients that have them smiling & happy to come back. I’ve had to fully come out my shell with my creativity in my makeup & with my clients, to ensure that they recieve a experience they’ll want to have again. It wasn’t the easiest because I was a timid person. I began my makeup journey by watching youtube tutorials. Everyday I would sit in front of my mirror or vanity & I would recreate looks I’ve seen on instagram or the internet. Looking back, I’ve learned that everyone has their preferences, opinions & choices. Pick what you like, work with who you want to work with because at the end of the day, this is YOUR life & you shouldn’t allow others to dictate what makes you happy !! I hope that my business, my brand will show everyone; all the art & beauty enthusiast that although I may have started as a timid self taught artist, I have all the ablities & charisma to put me at the top with the best of the best.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When you’re in Atlanta you have to go to iPic movie theater, Midtown beach club, the aquarium & botanical garden. Eat, drink &/or lounge at Cirque Daiquiri Bar & Grill, Slush Atlanta and CRU Lounge. These are just the bare minimum of the things to do in Atlanta.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my mom , my kids, my girlfriend & most of all my aunt Terrie (R.I.P.) They have been the main reasons I continously thrive today. With everything I do, I do it to give my kids the life I wanted as a child. My mother tried her best to support my dreams with the resources we had. In junior high my mother tried to help me start my modeling career. I couldnt start my modeling career then, but my mother still took me to plenty of fabric stores when I started designing my own clothes. She also let me try some of her eyeshadows & blushes when my love for makeup really grew. My girlfriend Markeshia has been my rock, my backbone & my biggest suppporter. I can call my girlfriend about any idea I may have & she will give me the most genuine advice ever, she has also been my helper in many events I’ve done thus far. The last person I have to pay tribute to is my aunt Terrie. She taught me many life lessons that I use daily & she stays with me everywhere I go. She’s the angel over my shoulder that always reminds me that I’m stronger than any challenge. I love everyone last one of them unconditionally & I am grateful to have them in my life !!
