We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Murphy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve fantazized most of my life about flipping homes, but never actually put thought into how to get started. One day , I simply decided “I am going to get my Real Estate license”, (You don’t actually need a RE licence to be an investor but it’s certainly a perk.) and on that journey committed to studying Interior design. The Covid-19 Pandemic didn’t paralyze me but instead, motivated me to truly be in charge of my own success! I was furloughed as a flight attendant during the pandemic and immediately realized ” I want more control over MY success and life”. Real estate/Interior design gives me the flexibility that most careers do not offer. It allows me to create a personalized experience and build lifelong relationships with everyone I service.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ashley Murphy x Co is practically your one stop shop for real estate and interior design services. We have licensed professionals in real estate and interior designing that can exceed your expectations and help your dream(s) become reality! I am most excited about growing my business, the more business I have the more I can help someone who is in need of this particular service. I am where I am today because of the people around me, I’m easily influenced by success so I began to network and pattern myself after ones that were in the industry I intended on mastering. Surely it was not easy, I’d say there are more lows than highs in the business industry but the rewards of the highs out weighs the lows so you win. My mindset is what kept me focused when I’d began to “drift”… your mind controls your outcome. Feed yourself what you need to grow. I’ve learned to keep going.. every no gets you closer to your first yes! I simply want others to know the possibilities are endless, if it’s measurable, it’s achievable. I am in the business of helping!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A few of my favorite places… hmm! St.Regis hotel , the food is amazing! Buckhead Village District has really great food and shopping! Normally I’m back and forth between Le Bilboquet, Le Colonial and Gypsy Kitchen but the other restaurants there are pretty fab as well. Brash coffee and Cacao is beyond amazing.. coffee is literal life and they have great choices. Museums are super fun for me, High Museum and Fernbank are pretty cool. I travel a lot so I have fav places all over ! Nature walks are lovely (until you encounter bugs :/) Sweetwater has a nice nature trail, it’s about an hour from Atlanta. You can catch me at a movie 75% of the time, the AMC in Phipps Plaza is a fav. Libraries are pretty fun to hangout in as well, lol!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My family, church family, friends, mentors, Ambrya Walker, Avion Abreu, LaTonya Dasher, Tiffanie Watts, Britton Jones, Janet Prioleau, Wendy Allen, Lula Gilam and Mazyar Naderian.
