We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a Mother and business owner, the impact of owning a business has made my children see that having a strong work ethic along with goals/dreams are attainable. My children see and admire my determination and independence. They witness the highs & lows of running a business, they pitch to help me and give me major support/encouragement. The most important thing is that they know. .”if Mommy can follow her dreams, so can I!”

What should our readers know about your business?
Just like Mamos is a personal chef service and catering company. This journey has not been easy at all but the rewards make everything worth it. As a new business owner with no prior experience, I had to learn hard lessons about running a business. It’s not just about making and cooking good food. It’s not just about the bragging rights of saying you have a business.. I had to learn about pricing, I had to sacrifice money to invest into supplies and promotion. I had to learn how to balance being a single mother of two children and running my business simultaneously. What helped me through it all was my passion to succeed, the few people I had in my corner supporting me and my children because I never want to let them down. I want the world to know that the Just Like Mamos brand is all about growth, living in your purpose and inspiring others to do the same. My mission statement is “Bloom where you have been planted” I would not be where I am today had I not decided to conquer my fears. I chose to bloom so that I could have the life I have always wanted and leave a legacy for my family.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a New Yorker born and raised, this is the city that never sleeps. There is so much to do and see. I would take my friend to city island for some fresh and delicious seafood. If it’s a nice day outside we would go to The Brooklyn bridge. To walk, see the amazing views, grab ice cream. Dallas BBqs for the amazing texas size Drinks. The MOMA museum and Museum of Natural history. Tickets to see a Broadway show. Ride the Staten Island ferry. There’s literally too many places to name lol. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmother, Georgeann Campbell has been my backbone all my life. Since I have started this entrepreneurial journey, she has always provided me with words of encouragement, always has believed in me and is someone that I want to continuously make proud.
