We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes, one of my favorite affirmations is “Your gift will make room for you”. It actually comes from a Bible verse, Proverbs 18:16, and it says “A man’s gift opens doors for him and brings him before great men.” I love this verse because it reminds me that everything I need is already inside of me. I don’t have to steal, cheat, lie, or get over on anyone to get to where I’m trying to go, because my gift will open doors and will put me before anyone who is necessary to my destiny.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
A majority of the years I’ve been licensed, I practiced traditional Real Estate, assisting clients interested in purchasing and selling a home. I am grateful for each and every client, transaction, and closing, as those interactions shaped me as an individual in business, and my business itself. I got into Real Estate during a down market, so I’ve seen Seller’s Markets, Buyer’s Markets, a plethora of foreclosures and short sales, limited foreclosures, and now, a health pandemic that has tremendously affected the market (in a good way) and the way we must do business. No two transactions are the same, and even now, 9 and a half years later, I learn something new every time. About 6 years in, I got my Broker License and shortly after, I began working with investors. A little over 7 years in, I began investing in Real Estate myself. I found investment Real Estate being a totally different bull to take by the horns and required me to wear a different hat, as the trained mind of a traditional Realtor doesn’t work on the investment side; approach has to be different in order to be successful. None of it has been easy, and I’ve most definitely had a tremendous amount of challenges, set backs, hiccups, and snakes I’ve encountered, but all of it has been oh so worth it, as it all taught me something else that I’ve been able to use to progress. These challenges weren’t easy to overcome, but keeping my eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel, got me through, each and every time. I feel as though my experiences and my knowledge of many different market types, as well as being a living example having worked with a wide variety of clients as well as having purchased different types of properties myself, sets me apart from others. I am able to use personal experiences and those I’ve encountered with others, to assist clients in accomplishing their goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being an Atlanta native, I am extremely familiar with many of the “hot spots” around the city. If I was hosting a friend for a week long vacation here in Atlanta, a few places I would be sure to take them are the Aquarium, Coca-Cola factory, High Museum of Art, Atlanta Beltline (Eastside Trail is my favorite), Chik-fil-A Headquarters (I actually used to work here and have pictures in Truett Cathy’s Office), and the Trap Music Museum (attraction that pays homage to some of the Southern Hip Hop Artists that have been most influential to Atlanta culture). To eat, we would most definitely go to Pappadeaux (I’m a seafood connoisseur), The Nook (they have the best fish bowls if you like alcohol), Iron Age (Korean BBQ that will literally make you want to “slap your momma”), Triton Yards (food truck park that has a variety of options, and it’s nice and open for social distancing), and Atlanta Breakfast Club (because who could come to Atlanta and not have brunch at a place named after the city?)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents have played a monumental part in my success. Their constant love, support, babysitting, and simply “being there” has been exactly what I’ve needed to accomplish my goals. And I would be remised if I didn’t recognize my daughters. Because of them, I have infinite reasons to wake up each morning with a goal in mind and tackled before the sun goes down. As cliché as it sounds, they give me the motivation that I need to keep going, because of them I make better decisions, and because of them, I’m determined to leave a legacy.
