We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Curtis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I have many favorites, I love words but Two top favorite quotes and a favorite personal affirmation that have helped me. through my more recent stage of my life.

The jump is so frightening between where I am and where I wanna be but because of all I may become I will close my eyes and leap. I saw that quote my junior year in of college while studying abroad in London, England. I loved it so much then and I still do because it reminds me to be brave and curious. To be aware enough to acknowledge my fears and anxiety, but to trust that there’s so much more to experience, enjoy and discover.

The second I wanna share is “I am who I am, It is what it is, I harbor no resentment towards what has passed. It is what it is.” That’s a personal affirmation I created to help me let go of hindering memories and thoughts that weren’t serving my growth. It helps be in the present moment and accept that is.

“your beauty is undeniable but its everything ancient and sacred in you is even more stunning”. Is a quote that has been sticking with me the most these days and it truly is a reminder to me the I am so sacred and stunning that my Dna carries some of the most ancient wisdom and beauty. When I embody this quote, it reminds me of my divinity and importance of my devotion to my inner goddess.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
in life we are all on a journey, whether it’s a spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, financial or without clear understanding of what the journey is. It is my mission to bring you clarity on your journey.

My work is to support my people in spiritually birthing themselves on a higher level, to bridge a gap between the physical and spiritual realities and provide sacred space for us to breath and relax so we can make room to heal.

Ive been on the spiritual path my entire life. I have come to accept the calling on my life be led in the way God has orchestrated. I grew up in church, as a young as 4 years old I was heavily devoted to God.. At seven I was joining in on my grandmothers prayer circles and praying with friends on the playground who were dealing with tough times at home.

Ive always been real deep, sensitive and empathetic and it took some time, but what I once struggled with accepting and understanding I began to realize was a superpower of mine. Im an intuitive specifically I’m Clairsentient and Clairaudient which means I sense and hear things in a deeper and more supernatural way.

Presently I have created a Buisness centered around spirituality. The Journey healing oasis provides sacred space for the community to relax, release, and restore on their soul’s Journey. I see it has providing refuge in the midst of storms. We host sound baths, sacred healing ceremonies for releasing, healing emotional and generational wounds, yoga, one on one services, classes and workshops.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So im new to Atlanta so im still feeling out the scene but based on the 8 months I’ve been here I would definitely take them along with me to the gym If theyre gonna be with me a week. I train at Dpactal. Its the best environment and training, I will hit up my line sister Dj Jazzy T and My soulie Dj Wifi To see where theyre playing cuz im gone support my girls. Im also an “I like Art” type girl so were gonna hit a museum, maybe Jazz night at the high museum, eat papas cuban restaurant but instead of eating there were gonna get it to go and eat it at a park. I also wanna try out the drive in movies they have here so we gone do that, visit rock steady on a Thursday its so much fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have so many people that I would have to shout out for where I am today, of course my mother Demetriss, my grandmother Shirley, her mother and her mother’s mother and so forth. They have been my guiding light and are the foundation of all I am today. I have much gratitude for their sacrifices and the gifts I’ve inherited. My Bay View High School teachers who are now my sorors, Ms Coleman and Ms Watts. they were so pivotal in shaping my view on early adulthood and womanhood. Beyoncé’s artistry, work ethic, and courageousness has continuously inspired me to be brave, bold and creative. Iyanla Vanzant has truly changed my life and my mindset. My spiritual journey catapulted after reading, “One day my Soul Just Opened Up”, followed by In the meantime.” I remember sending these books to so many of my friends that year. My sisters inspire me all the time, the love and support of my besties The Crew TMFCB, My energy healing teacher Jennifer, My Spiritual Mother Aja Sole, My line-sisters – shout out to Delta Sigma Theta, Mrs Rucker, The Goddess Temple, The Mystic Living school, The global sound healing institute, Tennessee State University, my parenting partner Patrick and most of all my son Hendrix. All have played a major role in who I am and where I am today and I am so grateful for their presence and support In every capacity. Im sure I may be missing others but my heart is with them all.
