We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlee Record and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashlee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, I was tired of running from the plans God had for my life. I knew for years that He wanted me to write books, empower women around the world through His Word, and eventually I learned that He also wanted me to coach. But I was afraid. I felt like I wasn’t good enough, I didn’t have enough followers on social media, and I also didn’t want to give up my career as a teacher. But ultimately, the pandemic happened in 2020 and I had a me versus me conversation in the mirror. I decided that I would no longer stand in the way of the lives God wanted to impact through my work in the marketplace. So I went ahead and started working on the various project ideas He’d given me over the years.

What should our readers know about your business?
I empower corporate Christian women to launch their online-service based business God’s way. The greatest part of my business is the impact that it has on my clients, their clients, their families, their legacy, and beyond. It’s expansive! My clients are trailblazers who haven’t yet fully discovered their potential in Christ as a Kingdompreneur because various life experiences caused them to operate in fear instead of in the freedom of faith. When we work together, they’re able to develop the mind of Christ, establish their online presence, and offer services that transform lives for God’s glory. It’s amazing to witness their growth and to see them shine in their Kingdom assignment as entrepreneurs. More than anything else, I am most proud of the results I’ve been able to have as a coach and business strategist. It brings tears to my eyes when I think about the progress my clients have made and how they’ve been able to reach dreams that they once thought were impossible to reach because their life experiences made them procrastinate out of fear. My biggest challenge has been mastering my own mindset daily. Some days, I’ll look up from my work and see someone else in my niche who seems to be doing so much better than I am and then I’ll feel like I’m not doing good enough. Then, I remind myself that I have my own God-given timeline and refocus. I learned that I won’t progress in my own journey if I’m constantly comparing my impact to others. It’s important to celebrate where I am daily because there was a time when I was praying to get to this present moment. I want the world to know that your God-given dreams are absolutely possible to achieve. Once you master your mindset and implement an effective strategy to build your business God’s way, you will get results in due time. The keys to success are consistent imperfect action and faith.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We just moved to Atlanta from Chicago last year in August so we’re still exploring and finding our favorite spots but this is what we know so far: The first day we’ll take her the aquarium because we both love the creatures of the sea and then afterwards we’ll go to Little Mexico in Grayson for their delicious tacos and margaritas. The next day, we’ll explore the Atlanta Botanical Garden because we both love nature and the pictures that I’ve seen are stunning so I know it’ll be beautiful in person. On Sunday, we’re all heading to the 11am service at The Faith Center, our incredible church in Tucker because TFC is the place to #BeMore. The next day, we’re heading to this AMAZING spot my husband (Julian) found called Chicago Pizza & Sports Grill in Smyrna because we’re from Chicago and we don’t play about our pizza (lol). The last day we’ll head to Busy Bees in Atlanta, making sure we pre-order our food because their lines are ALWAYS LONG. They have the best soul food I’ve had here so I know she will love it too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout is dedicated to God, my incredible husband Julian, our three wonderful children, Christian, Gabriel, and Naomi, my phenomenal parents, and all of my amazing sistah-friends who saw me before I ever fully saw myself.
