We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashanti Jasper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashanti, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It’s not a question of what but who. God is most certainly the reason why Styles by Marshà has been a success. He never fails and never will. Jeremiah 29:11 is my company’s theme statement: “for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”. I have submitted my life and my brand to the will of the Lord and He has provided abundantly.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

As a wardrobe stylist, my job is to help clients define their personal style and create a wardrobe that reflects their personality and lifestyle. This involves everything from analyzing body shapes and color palettes to shopping for the latest trends and accessories.

As a mom and wife, my family is my top priority. Juggling work commitments with family obligations can be challenging, but it’s essential to prioritize both to maintain a healthy work-life balance. In addition to my faith, I am incredibly fortunate to have a supportive and loving family. They are always there for me, whether I need a helping hand with the kids or some much needed time by myself.

As an entrepreneur, I’m always looking for new opportunities to grow my business. Whether it’s networking with other professionals in my field or exploring new marketing strategies, I’m constantly pushing myself to learn and improve. It’s an exciting and dynamic field, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion on my own terms.

Ultimately, managing it all is a balancing act that requires patience, perseverance, and a lot of faith. It’s not always easy, but it’s one that I’m passionate about and committed to making work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Birmingham, Alabama for a week, I would take them to some of the best places in the city to experience its rich culture and history. Here is a little itinerary I would create for them:

Day 1:

– After picking up my friend from the airport, I would take them to Urban Parc a new restaurant in town that offers a cool aesthetic and amazing southern comfort food.
– After lunch, we would head to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, a museum and research center dedicated to the history of the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham.

Day 2:

– We would start the day at TopGolf and make our way over to City walk to enjoy a Colossal Milk Shake from K&J’s Elegant Pastries.
– After K&J’s, we would head to the Plum Bar to enjoy some live music.

Day 3:

– We would start the day with a visit to the Birmingham Museum of Art, which has an impressive collection of art, ranging from ancient to contemporary.

Day 4:

– We would take a day trip to Huntsville, about an hour and a half drive from Birmingham, and visit my old stomping ground The Alabama A&M University. While there we will hit up a few boutiques and vintage spots.
– We would have lunch at Sam & Greg’s Pizzeria, a must-visit for delicious pizza and Gelato.

Day 5:

– We would start the day with some shopping at a few of my favorite boutiques.
– In the evening, we would head downtown for dinner and drinks at Pizitz , a popular food hall, and Paper Doll, a chic upscale bar that offer a variety of classic and innovative cocktails .

Day 6:

– We would spend the day exploring the beautiful city of Birmingham. Railroad park would be our first stop.

Day 7: Vulcan Park and Museum

– We would end our week-long trip with a visit to Vulcan Park and Museum, where we could take in breathtaking views of the city skyline and learn about Birmingham’s history and culture.
– For lunch, we would go to Niki’s West, a cafeteria-style restaurant known for its Southern-style comfort food.

Overall, Birmingham, Alabama offers a fantastic blend of history, culture, and outdoor activities, making it the perfect destination for a week-long trip.
