We had the good fortune of connecting with Aryana Hamzehloo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aryana, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic or creative career because I believe it is apart of my life’s purpose. Ever since I was young, I’ve loved performing, theatre, acting. I’m now a professional actress and I get to impact people on a daily basis. I get to help people feel less alone, feel seen, feel represented. I think the most beautiful thing about pursuing an artistic career is the ability to connect – I believe art brings humans together and expresses our emotions in a way that basic words cannot. I love the responsibility and commitment to represent human nature and all walks of life, and to make a positive, lasting impact on this world through my talent and through my art.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I’ve been acting since I was in the first grade. I didn’t know I wanted to do it professionally until high school, when my English teacher had us write a prompt about our future careers. 15 year old me wrote about her desire to succeed as an actress, and what she had to do to achieve her goals. I still have that piece of paper, and looking back now I’m so proud of how much I’ve grown as an artist and the life I live now. I’m most proud of my recent work – booking my television debut as a guest star on a big series, being a recurring character on a viral web series with over 100M+ views across social platforms, booking a lead in a feature that I get to travel for. I’m also so proud of all of the insane auditions I’ve been on that I haven’t booked – just simply getting the opportunity to audition and practice my craft in front of renowned casting directors and brilliant producers has been a gift in itself. It has not been easy at all getting to where I am today professionally. There were immense challenges of auditioning and rarely booking (you’d be shocked at the numbers!), never understanding how to navigate the industry, wondering if I would even see success in the TV/Film world as a mixed race daughter of immigrant parents. No one in my family comes from the entertainment industry, so I knew I needed to take the reigns and discover the journey on my own. I work on my mindset everyday, to train my perspective that I deserve to be successful and I can do anything as long as I believe in myself and my own capabilities. My parents taught me an important lesson, as they both immigrated from two different countries and instilled in my siblings and I that we can achieve anything we want in this life as long as we work extremely hard and never, ever give up. I want the world to feel inspired and empowered by this – no matter where you come from, no matter what your background is, no matter what other people may say about you – you can see success as long as you set your goals, believe in yourself, drown out the outside noise and be as persistent as humanly possible when life knocks you down.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently reside in the Los Angeles area, and the best parts are food and the views. Malibu beaches are insanely gorgeous, along with views from Griffith Observatory and Mulholland Drive (You can see the Hollywood sign from there). My favorite food spots are Verse in Toluca Lake and Spoon & Pork on Sunset Blvd. I’d recommend to also check out Tehrangeles, for all things Middle Eastern and delicious foods like juicy kabob and special desserts. Rodeo Drive is beautiful to check out for shopping, and you definitely have to do the Hollywood Sign hike!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my partner, Victor, for constantly supporting me and being my rock during the tough times. I want to shoutout my parents for supporting me through every career choice and for being the coolest, most loving and supportive parents on planet Earth. I want to shoutout my brothers and sister for being the most fun and loving siblings I could ever ask for. My best friends Stella, Serena, Crystal, Bonnie, Brittany and Emma – I love you all and thank you for our amazing friendships. Atching Joy, Koya CJ, Koya Jan, Dana, Daniel, Dawson, Justin, Ramsey, and Howard Fine all deserve a special shoutout from the bottom of my heart. Succeeding in life is nothing without your supportive tribe and community.
