Meet Armada Pinkins | Certified Life Empowerment Coach, Pastor, Author, TV Show Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Armada Pinkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Armada, how does your business help the community?
Dr. Pinkins Empowerment Academy provides coaching, mentoring, speaking and other services with the aim to empower people’s lives. One main area of focus is on the overachievers/super achievers who are accomplishing great things in their personal and professional lives, but do not have True Freedom inside because of pain, unresolved trauma or other negative life events. Also, through my online church, International Church of Destiny, and my weekly TV show, Dr. Love With Wisdom From Above we help and empower people to become the best version of themselves.

This focus and passion came from the fact that as a 10-year-old in our studio apartment I watched my mom and her boyfriend fight viciously numerous times. I felt helpless and all I could do was cry and scream. Fear and anxiety flooded my inner being and I carried that domestic violence trauma for 40 years, never telling anyone about it. I was in an emotional prison, but one good byproduct of this is that I became an overachiever/ super achiever and even became the first African American woman to become a Titan II Missile Combat Crew Commander in the United States Air Force. Now that I have gained true freedom, I have a passion to help people in my community and the world to be free of internal pain and trauma.

What should our readers know about your business?
Dr. Armada is a Certified Empowerment Coach, Pastor, Author, and TV Show Host. In my business I bring a unique and powerful approach to freedom by combining divinely-led coaching with holistic healing methods and techniques to bring lasting relief and true freedom. Two Changed lives that I am most proud of is one client who had suffered sexual and emotional abuse and abandonment. She had been in counseling for seven years but after just three months with my coaching she said, “I have gotten more freedom since you have been coaching me than I did in the seven years of counseling.” Another client who had been raped by a friend at a critical transition point in her life was able to navigate the transition successfully and obtain true freedom and to find divine purpose. I just don’t rely upon my knowledge and wisdom, but I have wisdom from above which makes my coaching more powerful to get amazing results for my clients.
Dr. Pinkins has a Doctorate Degree in Adult Learning; master’s degrees in Psychology (Emphasis in Life Coaching), Strategic Leadership, Human Relations and Management, and Teaching English as a Second Language. She also has a Pastoral Diploma from Rhema Bible Training School and several computer technical certifications.
In addition to academic training, a great source of her training comes from experiential life learning. Dr. Pinkins has overcome many traumatic life events through the power of The Holy Spirit and applying the same techniques she uses to bring True Freedom to her clients. Her story includes overcoming childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, abortion, divorce and cancer. Her mission now is to use her knowledge and experiences to coach and empower trauma survivors and others to obtain true inner freedom and discover their authentic voice. So, they can share their story with the world.
I started right around the Covid pandemic time. I started with academic coaching for any age. Students and parents were suffering because schools were closed. Afterwards, I transitioned to coaching adults because I realized that there are many people who have gained success as the world defines it, but they don’t have true freedom inside and their lives are negatively impacted, especially on the relationship level.

Business has not been an easy road, but I have preserved it. I reached out for help, and I received free help for the Rosie Network Service2CEO program which helps veterans become successful business owners. I also joined a group of Christian Business Leaders in Kingdom Builders Academy.
When you are challenged, get help. You will be challenged, and you will be tempted to quit, but always know that quitting is not an option. Learn from your mistakes and have a mindset that success will and must happen for you. I want the world to know that True Freedom is your birthright, and it is possible to obtain no matter what adverse circumstances and situations you have encountered in this journey called life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them up to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. On the way, we would stop at historical sites and eat the local food. In Atlanta, we would jump on the Peachtree Trolley for a 90- minute trolley ride through the heart of the city. For dinner, we would have a delightful meal at

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. On Sunday we will attend church service at Dr. King’s old church. We would visit the world of Coca Cola and we would definitely visit the Dr, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park, and perhaps the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Of course, we will end the trip with a SkyView Atlanta ride at night to see the city sites.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who has given me life. I was conceived by a rape to my 15-year-old mother who decided not to abort me because of wanting to please God and to honor the life that she was impregnated with. She gave me back to God while I was still in her womb and the hand of God has been on my life, all my life, even when I was not serving Him. Throughout my journey he has brought people into my life, especially spiritual Fathers like Oral Roberts, Kenneth E. Hagin and Apostle Jerry Eze and I want to dedicate this shoutout to them although the first two have transitioned from this earthly life. I also want to dedicate this shoutout to my fourth grade teacher, Ms. Goldstein, who would come to Harlem in New York City, a predominate black neighborhood at the time, to take me to museums and other educational places which broadened my world and stimulated my learning.
