We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariyan Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariyan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started my business, my thought process centered on the belief that I could make a real difference in people’s financial lives. In 2017, at 21/22, I was working as a sales manager at a hotel—a “good job” by many standards—but I always wanted something more fulfilling. My mom, a strong advocate for business ownership, encouraged me to go that route. Ironically, because she was in real estate, I initially didn’t want to pursue the same path. Instead, I started in life insurance, where I truly appreciated the value it could bring to families. However, I was confronted with the heartbreaking reality that many older clients, some in their 70s and 80s, couldn’t afford life insurance or other basic financial needs.
Seeing these challenges made me realize a deeper issue: young adults and millennials often don’t prioritize or understand financial security until it’s too late. I made a promise to myself to help bridge that gap and empower young people, ages 18 to 35, to “make, manage, and maximize” their money. That led me to start speaking, hosting classes, and eventually motivating this generation through mortgage loans and real estate. Ultimately, becoming a real estate broker allowed me to provide financial knowledge and services in a way that addresses a real problem, helping people secure a more stable future. My business journey has been driven by a commitment to solving that problem and making a lasting impact.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Legacy2Life Estate Co is more than just a real estate brokerage—it’s a full-circle service where I handle both real estate and mortgage loans. This approach allows me to understand each transaction deeply, from credit considerations to final closing, ensuring that my clients have comprehensive support every step of the way. I’m proud of the trust my clients place in me, as I never rush or push them. Integrity, honesty, and respect form the core of how I operate, and I go beyond what’s typical in this industry to make sure people feel supported and valued.
I’m most proud of the resilience that has kept me going, even as I’ve watched peers leave the industry. The perseverance I’ve developed over the last few years has been essential. Becoming a broker is no easy feat, and I’m grateful for the strength, wisdom, and blessings that have guided me to keep growing in the best way possible.
Networking has been key to my success. When I first started in real estate, I was young and hungry, willing to put myself in any room, introduce myself, and make connections, even if my voice was shaking. Overcoming challenges often means meeting them head-on. I shift my perspective to see challenges as opportunities, solving problems one by one, even when things aren’t easy or seamless.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to know myself. There’s a lot of advice out there, and my mom taught me to take what’s helpful and let the rest go. Early on, I felt insecure not having a college degree, especially around colleagues with more traditional education. But with my mom’s wisdom, I learned to focus on what serves me and not let negative comments get to me.
At Legacy2Life Estate Co, I want the world to know that we are committed to motivating millennials to make, manage, and maximize their money. This mission is about more than real estate; it’s about helping the next generation create a legacy with honesty, integrity, and unshakeable commitment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my goodness I am the wrong person to ask this question. I am boring. I read books I chill at home. I don’t do much going out to be honest. The honest answer is, I would call my mom and ask her what we should do
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my mom. She’s been an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember, and her influence has been instrumental in shaping who I am today. She not only encouraged me to pursue business but also taught me the foundational skills that have been critical to my journey. She introduced me to life insurance, real estate, and the broader idea of entrepreneurship. From teaching me how to write my first résumé and create flyers to guiding me through making a business plan and pursuing clients, her support was there every step of the way.
She also showed me how to secure funding, leverage credit, and build a business from the ground up. If it weren’t for her encouragement, mentorship, and hands-on lessons, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. My mom truly deserves recognition for the foundation she built for me and the drive she instilled in me to keep pushing forward.
