We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Yvonne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The end goal for Vegan Pop Eats Is to be a global brand with events and products that educate and show how dope being on the greenside is. And also have products and actual events all over the country. I want to be known as an expert n the Plantbased space and possibly write a book.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a colorful background and never did anything the conventional way. Moving to NY, after the death of my mother. moved to pursue what I always wanted to do and that was a professional On-Air Journalist n the Pop Culture niche.

It is challenging because it is competitive and job opportunities are never posted. So we often have to work for free n exchange for the opportunity. When became vegan,I was doing the red carpets, hosting a talk show, and created Vegan Pop Eats and it has confirmed and allowed me to do all the things came to NY for and it gets better every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I used to live n Atlanta but now in NY if they are here or there for a week? Hmm. I am plant-based so it would be Hartbreakers, Terms of Endearment, Double Zero, Planta and Urban Dessert Lab The Standard, Soho and we would round it out with massages and man pedi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
want to dedicate my shoutout to My mother, Willie Pearle Collie. It was her breast cancer that started me on the road to creating Vegan Pop Eats
