We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Thomas-Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Deciding to walk away from domestic violence and be a voice for my community.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others I am ANGELA and the fact that my creator says that there is no one else like me. When I realized that we all have a purpose here on this earth and no matter HOW many people are doing what you are doing GOD gave each of us a vision to fulfill our purpose here according to JEREMIAH 29:11. I had to realize that my past could no longer affect my present in order for me to move into my future. I had to own my T.R.U.T.H. realize where I GOT off track, WHERE I FAILED, WHERE I CAME SHORT when I realized my downfalls and how I could correct them I begun to see change. When I truly realized that if I wanted true VICTORY I had to surrender and allow GOD to truly LEAD me something we tend to not want to do because we are afraid of what people may think because we don’t have all the degrees and all the BIBCAL teachings. When you SEE THAT GOD CAN AND WILL USE YOU IF YOU YIELD TO HIM. I found V-I-C-T-O-R-Y
I learned my VALUE, I know who I am thru Christ.
I am no more INTENTIONAL about the things of GOD.
I have COMPASSION for GOD’s people(I wasn’t always saved so I have to remember when I wasn’t saved).
I don’t mind sharing my TESTIMONY because I know where GOD has brought me from and just as he did it for me he’ll do it for anyone. The test came to show me I can OVERCOME.
I am an Overcome 1:37 faith doesn’t make it easy but it makes it possible to remind me that things will come but it’s POSSIBLE!!!
I am still here in spite of all I have endured I am yet standing that’s called RESILIENCE that strength that comes from the POWER within me that’s beyond, my control that want let me GIVE UP….IT’S THE WILL BEYOND THE WILL……
When you realize you are truly without power unless you are connected to the source you will truly DIE! YIELD to the Holy Spirit and allow him to LEAD you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Myrtle Beach SC so of course, we would hit Crabby Mikes’s one of the best seafood places. Being that I am new to the area as well we would definitely be exploring some of the things on my” new city bucket list”. A helicopter ride over the city is a must, a few long walks on the beach, site seeing catching up, and enjoying the scenery. Enjoying each other as much as possible.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can’t begin to acknowledge everyone that has played a major role in me being me we would be here for a minute. They know who and what role they play in my life but I would like to dedicate this shoutout to the 138 women that help bring 121 DAYS OF PRAYER 365 AFFIRMATIONS FROM AROUND THE WORLD book to life and the #L3Movement. I also would like to give a shoutout to my CO-CAST MEMBERS of “The Mask Behind the Mask virtual monologue”, the visionary Shana W Gourdine, and the Director Elder Lakia Barnett.
