We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Huerta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
The most important lesson I have taught my children is that when one door closes, another opens. I have always strived to lead by example. As a Mexican immigrant, I faced many obstacles, but I persevered to earn my GED here in Georgia and also start my own business. This is one of the reasons I asked my daughter Liliana to join me in this venture. She assists me with administrative tasks and provides translation services when needed.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our cleaning company is growing rapidly through referrals, and I believe our commitment to providing the highest quality service in the area is what truly sets us apart. I have learned that clients consistently prioritize quality over low prices.

Building this business has presented challenges, particularly the language barrier. I am very proud of learning to express myself in a language that is not my own, and I am deeply grateful for my clients’ patience and their efforts to understand me.

My greatest satisfaction comes from creating jobs for several women, supporting my clients, and, above all, being able to help my parents financially. I believe that any business can succeed with dedicated effort and persistence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever friends or family visit, I always recommend these three locations.

To start the trip on a positive note, I suggest attending Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King. It’s a beautiful church located in Buckhead. For a great learning experience, the Georgia Aquarium is a wonderful place to visit with family.

For food, I highly recommend the enchiladas at Los Jefes Castillo. It is a small food truck located off I-75 North; though it is about an hour’s drive from Atlanta, it is definitely worth the trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. John W. Tidwell and everything I have learned from him. I worked for his turf company for several years cleaning the offices and I am especially grateful that he became my first home cleaning client.
Through his example, I learned the importance of treating clients with a positive attitude. Thank you for your support and for being such an impactful mentor in my professional life.I would also like to recognize the organization CLILA (Coalición de Líderes Latinos) and its founder, America Gruner. CLILA is an immigrant-led non-profit dedicated to raising awareness, mobilizing, and empowering the community to create meaningful change.America has been instrumental in helping me start my business. She encouraged me to enter a business plan competition in 2022, which I ended up winning.Thank you, America, for everything you have done for me and for our community.
