We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Bush and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Over the last several years my life has changed tremendously. I have found myself trying to balance work and home life and to be honest it can be challenging, but with the help of my spouse, my in-laws and my mother we make it work the best we can. I do at times have mommy guilt, but I have to keep going for my family. I used to work 9 to 5 and working on my nursing degree, to being a full-time business owner which was more demanding than expected. I stride myself on the term of “the reward is in the work”.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of the fact that we have and will continue to make positive impacts on peoples lives. Today we are a small growing business and are open for others to join. We have had many bumps in the road, a lot of red liners that we were not aware of, but managed to make it happen regardless. I’ve learned first and foremost that you have to crawl before you walk and not to mix personal finances with business ( always keep them separate). Mega Max Tax is a tax preparation company that services individual and business taxes. What sets us apart from the other companies is the fact we don’t just prepare your taxes, but we also educate, encourage, and walk with our customers through most financial processes. We help clients create their own businesses no matter how big or small because there’s room for all of us. We are sole believers of “each one, teach one” which is a motto we go by.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ponce City Market is really all I know, I mostly cook all of our foods besides ordering pizza here and there. Most of my company would show me new places in the city that they’ve heard about. I don’t get out much.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Indeed, I would first like to start of by thanking My Mother for giving me this life and survival skills to show me there is more than one way to skin a cat. I am the strong level-headed person I am to this day because of her and all of the sacrifices she has made for me. My father and his wife for putting the bug in my ear and jump starting my entrepreneurship. My father taught me that if you want something, go get it and let nothing get in your way. My husband for standing beside me and backing me 100% and being my rock. My children, I love you guys and this is dedicated to you. You can be anything you want to be and don’t let anyone tell you different. My family for encouraging me and standing by me and being circle of accountability, to being the shoulder I can cry on when it’s too tough. I can go on and on for days, but I always let those who played a role know how much they are appreciated and this is for you.
