We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is: My vision is stronger than my struggle. In 2017, I suffered from a traumatic brain injury that changed my life. At the time I was married with 3 children and working as a physical therapist for 8.5 years. I personally experienced not being able to care for myself or my family for the first time. I wasn’t able to work for over a year as I focused on getting well. When I joined my current company, I wasn’t fully recovered, however was determined to get back to work as a physical therapist. I had another goal to obtain my Orthopedic clinical specialist certification and start an Orthopedic fellowship; where I could gain knowledge to provide the best care possible to my patients. As I studied and fought to the point where it made me sick, I countinued fighting for what I wanted. In July 2018 I found out I passed my orthopedic specialist examination on the first attempt and continued on to complete my orthopedic fellowship in 2019. As, I worked I continued to not feel well and decided to go to the doctor. It was then discovered that I had intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri) and ended up having to have brain surgery on November 22, 2019. I had a goal to own my business, and partnered/opened Team Rehabilitation Decatur Church Street in March 2020. It was a few months after my brain surgery, which I thank God always. This is why the quote means everything to me; because with God and determination you can accomplish anything!!! I remind my patients daily to focus on their goals and continue fighting..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anyone that knows me, know that I love to travel, eat, shop, and spend time with my family and friends. If I’m in mommy mode, I like to take my kids skating, the movies, and anywhere outdoors where they could run around, exert their energy, and try something new.

When I’m enjoying me time I like to check out what’s hot on Instagram and try new venues. My most recent restaurants I’ve enjoyed were Mobay Spice in Druid Hills, Rock Steady in Midtown, Spaceman in Buckhead, & Trends Cafe in Stone Mountain.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ll always thank God first, my mother and stepfather (Mary and James Canteen), my sister (April Geddis), brother (Corey Canteen), my children (Kamden, Sariyah, & Eriyana), my ex-husband Joshua Williams and his parents (Ethel and Herman Williams), my aunts (Stoma Mcquillar & Heidi Fields), cousins (Latoya Jenkins and Stacy Jenkins-Burch), my Circle (Itaski Arnette, Ishia Sellers, Veronica Edwards, Davetrina Gadson, Carnecia Foster, Pamela Tucker, Chris Washington, Kinyanna Brooks, Sheree Love). other mother (Yolanda Boller), Carl Boller, Jennette “Putt” Haynes, Tomika Canteen, home church family at Canaan United Methodist Church. old work crew at Providence Park Nursing home in Tyler, Texas for taking care of my family and I at my lowest point.
