We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Burns and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angel, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I have embraced the concept of prioritizing. After years of struggling to achieve balance , I had to create my own boundaries and define what work-life balance means to me. Within those boundaries, I have my non negotiables and everything falls into place based upon greatest impact. Some of my best practices to honor this is planning in advance, leaving room for error, giving myself grace, and taking care of myself. Throughout life’s experiences, I have acknowledged that understanding priorities is essential and something that we must not only acknowledge but take ownership of.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In the Atlanta Area, a general day may look like this .. I would start my day by having breakfast at “Breakfast at Barneys. After breakfast, I would go for a walk along the Beltline and stop for a smoothie or quick snack. You must go to Slutty Vegan and get one of those juicy burgers, it’s worth the wait ! Sit outside and people watch, enjoying that good summer heat. Refresh and meet some friends at the food markets that we have distributed across the city. Grab some drinks and some laughs with friends. You must check out Ponce City market, visit “the Village” for some unique clothing from local small business owners . End your night at the City Winery or Kats Cafe for live vocals.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are several people that I would love to “shoutout.’ First and foremost, I’m grateful to God. My faith has been the cornerstone to my success thus far and will continue to guide me. I have so many friends and family that have contributed to my journey, ultimately driving me to reach different levels of success. There is always another level ! Everything that I am is an extension of the people that I’m attached to. As I get older , I have valued this even more and become more intentional about the people in my circle. We encourage each other, challenge each other and most importantly don’t hesitate to share information that can help everyone elevate and learn.
