We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Bibliowicz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My thought process stems from working for myself. My first experience with being self employed was when I decided to rent my home on Airbnb. I began to see a core concept within the processes: If you are willing to put in the time and energy, that time and energy will provide a fulfilling and stable life in return. (@airbnbatlanta)

When conceptualizing Peoples Town Coffee Bar, that same inner core message was my initial motivator but a new energy came about. There was an instinctual desire to provide that same time and energy to benefit my community. Having lived in South Atlanta/ Peoplestown for 10 years at that point, I, as part of the community, desired something that would allow neighbors to unite together, a community space that you could interact with the folks you see every day in your normal life- your drive home, while walking your dog, while growing your family. That desire culminated in Alex Brighams, Zach Thoren, and myself opening Peoples Town Coffee Bar. (@peoplestowncoffee, @peoplestownatl)

Focusing most of my energy on the food side of Peoples Town Coffee, I then learned my most recent passion- the feeling of providing your neighbor something delicious…seeing their eyes widen when you bring them something that excites, warming them up with a latte and filling them up with a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast biscuit with a dollop of pesto. It was then that I knew serving people and more specifically the community I live in a delicious bite would not only be fun but a level of fulfillment that would last a lifetime.

From this passion comes my newest venture: Te Quiero, Tacos! Partnering with Chef Luis Perez- our name expresses a lot of our mindset. It is an ode both to the food we will make, expressing “we love you” to tacos but also the inverse- the tacos and our team saying “We love you” to the Atlanta locals that will come eat our food. We make the food with love and passion and tradition, and love is the only word to describe how we feel when feeding our city.

Te Quiero, Tacos will open this fall at the Terminal South Food Hall in Peoplestown Atlanta. We will serve several different tacos with our key focus being on Mexico City style Al Pastor Tacos. In the Food hall we’ll have a counter as well as an outdoor Margarita Window to order alcoholic beverages and snacks while hanging outside with friends and family. Specials will include small plates like ceviche, desserts like house made flans, and beverages like unique variations of a classic margarita- Think Aperol Margaritas! (@tequieroatlanta)

Lastly, I am working on a passion project called “Atlanta Collaborative.” The goal with Atlanta Collaborative is to create a directory, for the lack of a better word, of Atlanta folks to encourage collaboration- across many industries. We will promote individuals on our primary social media platforms- asking them to answer 3 questions- What is your profession or what are you amazing at? What do you love to do away from your primary profession? What kind of help or collaboration are you looking for? While This is still in the works- the ideal scenario is to create a grouping of people willing to give their time, energy, and experience to others- helping others grow and hopefully growing and collaborating together. Our short term goal is to focus on making these connections and our more long term goal is to see the projects and potential collaborations between Atlanta professionals and find local grants to help support these ideas and dreams grow to fruition. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think what I would want them to know most is that there isnt many ideas that turn into a fulfilled idea/plate/taste that aren’t influenced by collaboration. While I believe myself to be creative enough to build delicious concepts and recipes, it is in collaborating with and learning from others that those concepts become well balanced and unique.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would send them towards my neighbors! Talat Market is creating amazing dishes the bring Thai techniques and Georgia ingredients together. Cat Eye Creative is a must visit art gallery in south downtown focusing on local up and coming artists. Bovino After Dark for an amazing prefix meal experience that elevates dining and keeps your imagination running with every bite.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Adam Crawford- Cat Eye Creative

Petie Parker- The Prelude Gallery
