We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Bessemer Alabama, a small town outside of Birmingham. Fun fact, Bessemer was initially going to be named Brooklyn. As a child, learning that fact resonates with me now, there is a saying that if you can make in New York, you can make it anywhere. I correlated that saying with a yearning to make it anywhere. My hometown is a place where that old adage is a necessary thought; it helped me see beyond small town living. My maternal grandmother is the inspiration behind my dedication, tenacity and drive. She was the owner of several lucrative businesses in Bessemer. As a little girl, barely able to reach the counter, I was tasked with running the cash register in her convenience store. From as far back as I can remember, my grandmother was dedicated to being her own boss. Being raised by a woman with that mindset, I understood the assignment. I was assigned to be a boss from the beginning. I worked in corporate America and was very successful, but unfulfilled. I went back to my roots, entrepreneurship. I have a Real Estate investment portfolio, I am embarking on a childcare facility and recently started working as a Real Estate Agent. Reflecting on conversations with my grandmother, remembering her words of wisdom helped to make the decision to leave what some would call the safety net of corporate American, a distant part of my past. I have dedicated myself to the same long lasting legacy for my family, generations to come. I am the proud mother of three daughters that already have the ‘dream’. They all strive to make an everlasting impression on the world by participating in the businesses that I’ve started. Together, with my guardian angel, my grandmother, we can make it anywhere and we are proving to be unstoppable. I’m a boss.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Real Estate Agent, that provides a luxurious buying experience. It is by design, that I exceed my buyer’s expectations. I excel at making the process one that is built on communication, dedication and professionalism. I am most excited about the responses my buyers display from the beginning of the home buying process to sitting at the closing table. I work above and beyond to ensure that each person I come in contact with has an immediate willingness to refer me to their friends and family. The process to becoming an agent, wasn’t an easy one, but because of my desire to achieve a reputation as a well-respected and innovative agent, my success outweighs the difficulties involved in the process. The hard work makes it all worthwhile. I am among the best of the best Atlanta has to offer in the Real Estate home buying process, with me any buyers dreams of finding their perfect home is my #1 goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friends are in town, we start the week with brunch at Breakfast at Barneys. On Tuesday, we’d have dinner at my #1 spot Poor Calvin’s. Poor Calvin’s is located in the heart of Atlanta, therefore why not start there? As for a good hang out spot in the city, I would take them to The Painted Pin, where the drinks are amazing and there is fun to be had. Wednesday, we would visit the Garden Room, because the drinks are incredible and they have to try the delicious lobster roll. Thursday’s dinner would be at Chops. The start of the weekend, Friday, we would have an amazing happy hour at The Select Atl. There we would have to indulge in the lamb lollipops. Saturday, we would spend the day at the Avalon, in Alpharetta and Sunday we would wind down with a spa treatment at Natural Body Spa and Shop on Peachtree Road.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
With no reservation, I, first give thanks to God for all He has provided me and continues to abundantly provide. He is my source. My number one girl, my grandmother, Yvonne Cooper, Rest in Paradise. My loving and encouraging husband, Jonathan Sanders, my beautiful smart daughters, my supportive family and friends, and my mentor. I’m sending a special shout out to include my cousin, Tamika Williams, who plays a part without hesitation. With these people, I find myself knowing the sky is the limit.
