Meet Andrea Campbell | Copywriter | Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In 2020 I felt pressure and knew it was time to quit procrastinating with my skills and talents. I watched other entrepreneurs around me take a step out on faith and start businesses – which also prompted me to put my thinking cap on. Inadvertently I began my journey as an entrepreneur long before I identified as one. In the fall of 2020 I was approached by two authors who had co-written their first book. I had experience with self-publishing and they wanted help publishing their title. I began proofreading their manuscript and instantly a light bulb went off! I could get paid for this! In the past I have peer-reviewed and edited several publications, as well as created documents, poetry and other works for friends and family – my business would be something I had already been doing for several years. In November 2020 I founded A. Campbell Consulting Co., A copywriting service.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I consider myself an artist, “and I’m sensitive about my shhht!” I am a connoisseur of words – a writer. A poet. A wordsmith. A scribe. That is my art. I take words and create stories, deliver messages, make songs, manifest ideas, and more. I am proud of myself overall and my accomplishments, I am mostly proud of my resilience and ability to endure; my power to form words into everlasting memories and to invoke thought. My professionalism was built through experiences and proper connections, taking risks and initiative – most importantly receiving AND applying constructive criticism. It has not been easy, but has all been worth it. The most important lesson I have learned is to trust myself, if I don’t believe or trust me, why would anyone else? I want the world to know my brand is universal, words are universal. Words are forever, words are magic. That is my brand. The power of words.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend visited I would think she would come on a Thursday. Upon her arrival, we would parlay in College Park, which I would advise to get a hotel near the airport. In my opinion it’s a good area to be and safe, which is very important. Or she would stay with me in Southside ATL. Once settled we will have a chill day and hit up a nearby café in downtown College Park, or find something tasty like Mr. Everything on Old National, something of the sorts. We would end our day with some light shopping in Little Five Points and either hang out in EAV (East Atlanta Village) to cap the night- both very eclectic areas with a little something for all. The next day we are up early ready to explore with an outdoor activity like Zoo Atlanta or the Georgia aquarium. We may also do something like visit the MLK National Historic Park or Clark Atlanta, Spellman/Morehouse. I have young children and a teenager so it would definitely need to be something kid friendly! A Hawks game would even be ideal. For the nightlife I might take them to Edgewood just to ride through downtown up North to some dope spots, or to club hop depending on the vibes. Saturdays and Sundays are reserved for church and brunch. Atlanta Breakfast Club is delicious but there are a plethora of brunch places. I can’t name them all. We might even take a hike up Stone Mountain! There’s so much to do here, and I’ve only been here a little under two years. There’s a lot I haven’t explored.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout to my city, Denver, CO which raised me, to my alma mater, Lincoln University – MO, which shaped my mind and connected me with lifelong friends, to Atlanta, GA the city that embraced my light. Ultimately, my shoutout is to God above, the author and finisher of my life – my guidance and my protection. My creator.
