We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My passion for supporting others along with the opportunity to be self sustaining is what drove my thought process to start my business.
When COVID came on the scene, it created an opportunity for me to change gears from what I was doing, which was an Online English Educator, to becoming a Certified Cognitive/Confidence Coach and Aromatherapist who specializes in supporting women to release their trauma so that they can THRIVE in their lives.
This comes from a deep place within me because I am a complex trauma survivor myself who, over the years, has struggled to pave my path in this world, not because I wasn’t qualified, but because I wasn’t confident enough. My trauma was a heavy weight on me that hindered me from becoming what I envisioned myself to become…a CEO of my own business who lives her dream every single day. Along the way, I created a method that worked incredibly to transform me from within so that I could reach my goals…so sharing it with others became the natural next step for me.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the CEO of Wellness Chick Coaching Services LLC, a transformational coaching business that specializes is supporting others through releasing their trauma using a holistic, integrative aromatherapy approach.
As a new CEO, my vision is focused and passionate. As a uniquely tailored niche, I am triple certified in (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coaching, Confidence coaching, Aromatherapist who specializes in emotional regulation) the most impactful areas to set others up for success when it comes to their trauma healing and recovery. My coaching turns acute, chronic and complex trauma survivors into Thrivers by using a 5 step blueprint that I created organically while I was going through my own trauma recovery. I didn’t have someone to guide me through other than my God at the time.
Therapy was too broad of an approach for me and kept me stuck in the past and I needed to implement forward movement in my healing journey so that I could get rid of the pain and emotional anguish on a deeper level for long-term results.
It took me over 20 years what it takes my clients 6 months to up to 2 years to achieve! I was my own guinea pig and didn’t know it at the time. I remember asking myself in the most painful moments “What in the world is this going to teach me one day?” What in the world am I learning through all of this?” It wasn’t until 3 years ago that I fully understood that answer to that question!
Now, I understand. So, my business has been coming to fruition for over 20 years now and as the door opened for this opportunity to become a Transformational Coach, I was able to easily walk through it. The challenges came in the emotional training I would receive to become a resilient example to the women who step into my coaching container and gain support from me. Nothing in life is easy at first…as we continue to practice the steps it takes to get to where we need to go, it becomes part of our identity and then it becomes easy.
That raw, down in the grit, incredibly painful experience that a person has within them can become their power when they allow it to transform them. This is at the core of my coaching business and I remind my clients of this often… “We do the work, we get the results!” Our pain can be turned into our power. That ugly, misshapen, energy from trauma can be transformed into true self assurance and incredible confidence…it just takes skill, practice and longevity to do so. That is what I coach others to do!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is such a great question!
I live in the heart of Atlanta, as a local living in Poncey-Highland, all the hot spots are within walking distance to me… Inman Park, Virginia Highlands, Little Five Points, Candler Park, East Atlanta. They are all right here!
I will integrate them into a week in my life…start off at East Pole Coffee Company for an early morning cup of unique deliciousness, then take them for a midmorning breakfast at Folk Art or Majestic Diner both within a couple of blocks from me. Then we would hit Ponce City market for some exploration and a great lunch at either Ton Ton Ramon, Umbrella Bar or Vietvana. Then an afternoon coffee or beverage at Dancing Goats…Dinner at Tio Luchos or Truva down the street…
We’d walk the beltline daily and we would hit up all the spots we could on there…Love going to New Realm for a Pint and apps and take in the skyline from the top floor bar area…we also love Five Urban Licks for a nice cocktail at the bar and having convos with the bartender there!
There are so many more places we love going right in our neighborhood. And we frequent all of them. So, our friends would have no shortage of nightlife, great food and amazingly chill yet authentic entertainment while they visit us!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success comes from so many branches of support along the way.
Along with my deep spiritual relationship and support from my heavenly Father and his spiritual organization, I have met inspiring women along the way who guided me to the path where I am now.
One dear friend and Amazing Business Coach, Nikita Williams, CEO of She’s Crafted To Thrive, incepted the idea of impacting others by becoming a life coach. She was instrumental to helping me carve this niche in my life so that I can serve others.
Another, is my friend, instructor and coach, Renee Hughes, CEO of Holistic Champions School of Aromatherapy, who stirred my passion for aromatherapy and helped me become a Certified Psycho Aromatherapist. Her approach and genuine love for what she does and how she helps others has given me an example worthy of following as I implement the skills and techniques taught to me through her school.
And, of course, my husband, business partner, fellow coach and friend, James Robinson, CFO of Wellness Chick Coaching Services LLC, who has been right at my side every step of the way and has joined my coaching team to support men who need support to release their trauma. He is my coach in many ways as well and together, we are a Power Couple!
