We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Patricio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The success of Atlanta Personal Chef Service centers around long-lasting, positive, personal relationships. Everyone we serve, from families to individuals, is a relationship we value with care, commitment, and quality. This extends to the relationships within our team as well. Positive, professional relationships develop and mature, and trust is built over time. Going on ten years of leading Atlanta Personal Chef Service, both my personal success as well as the success of the brand hinges on continually putting other people first, listening well, and always finding the best way to serve and add value to others.
Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
I am proud that I get to do work everyday that helps families and chefs be the best versions of themselves, whether it’s making dinnertime easy and healthy for busy families or providing a career path where chefs can actually enjoy dinner with their own families. It’s been ten years of difficult work to build a business and a brand from the ground up. There were many times when the road ahead was full of unknowns. But I always reminded myself of the people who would miss our service if we were gone, and those chefs who would have to return to the restaurant industry that they had worked so hard to leave. I learned to be patient, and always surround myself with wise people I look up to, who can offer guidance and wisdom along the way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d be sure to check out some amazing local food and drinking spots, walk or bike the beltline, go to Truist Park, shoot the hooch, go on a local hike, visit a nearby winery, and for sure spend a few days in either the north GA mountains or along the coast, perhaps at St Simon’s Island.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Success is only possible with all the relationships that supported and shaped Atlanta Personal Chef Service into what it is today. Clients who worked with us from the early days shared both how chef-prepared meals transformed their family dinner times and also shared constructive feedback to make us better. Each team member who has worked with us over the years shared their experience and added in new ideas for improvement. I attribute much of my personal growth and development to the EO Atlanta chapter, which led me in setting goals, continually learning, growing my leadership, and making sure I stayed balanced and had fun too along the way.
