We had the good fortune of connecting with Amir Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amir, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Need to feed corp was birthed based off life experience, I was fresh out of college moved to Dallas ,Tx from my hometown and after a short period of time I ended up homeless. I was homeless for an extended period of time staying here sleeping where I could because I didn’t have any family. I was offered help but it always came with expectations, they didn’t want to help they wanted me and because of my situation some of them got me. Once I got on my feed i decided to give back to the homeless community without asking for anything in return, i just want to be the love and light i needed when i was in the same situation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Need to feed corp isn’t just a career, it’s my passion and my peace , what sets me apart is my genuine care for others, Need to feed corp is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization and I’ve been serving the homeless community since 2018, need to feed corp has feed and clothes over 30,000 men, women and children in its existence. I’m proud to say that need to feed corp assists the community every month in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, Tx . I’m excited for what’s next for need to feed corp we want a permanent home to house, feed and help people. Truth because I love what I do, it makes it easy. loving on people who need it brings me joy and I’m constantly blessed to be able to do that for people. I remember being in need and not having genuine care, so I try to be that genuine care for others. I’ve learned that consistency works, people in the world still care and what’s nothing to me could mean the world to someone else. Need to feed is always looking to partner with businesses and people in the community we’d love to connect .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d take them hiking up Stone Mountain , then lunch at Weeyums Philly cheese steak which is at the bottom of the mountain the cheese steaks are amazing,
Then you gotta hit for dinner Hungry AF that Rasta pasta hits , HARD in a good way 21 bucks and you can eat twice and it’s packed with meat . Next day we’d visit at take a tour of Freebird farms it’s the farm in the city the have an amazing setup and the owner is a gem.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My team Cornelius, Lodeana and Chris… they are the back bone of Need to feed corp and also my boras members. Loyal and loving, supportive at every end and they push me to keep going and growing .
