We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Rayne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work life balance has changed so much over the years. I used to stretch myself so thin to the point that I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and sad! Now I make it a point to make sure self-care is integrated into my schedule even if it means scheduling in short breaks for myself throughout the day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always been a creative person and when I was a child I wanted to be a fashion designer or interior designer but I never actually really looked at them as realistic or attainable jobs. I also had low self-esteem growing up and when I got older modeling was one of the things that helped build my confidence. I began modeling with the encouragement from my best friend, Leah, and after modeling for a few years I felt like I had too many ideas that I couldn’t fully achieve as the subject and that’s when I picked up the camera. I started creative directing, styling, shooting and editing my own projects and things just went from there. I never limit myself to just one thing and have taken jobs as a model for videos, photo shoots, creative directed and shot my own projects as a photographer, I’ve been a wardrobe stylist on film and commercial sets, I’ve been an art director and production assistant, and my current main focus of producing all types of film projects. I pride myself in my ability to try new things and put myself out there even when I have no idea of the outcome!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is dedicated to Cool Kids Forever Films. This collective group of people gave me my first opportunities to work in film in a capacity that really allowed me to utilize my talents all in one place. I have to thank them for a lot of my success up to this point and the family I’ve gained from working with them.
