We had the good fortune of connecting with Amarachi Ibe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amarachi, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Prior to who I am now, I was a stranger to risk taking. I typically played it safe until it got to a point where I realized playing it safe was actually holding me back. I was limiting myself because I believed that there were only a few acceptable career or life paths. Although I was passionate about health, I struggled with how people may not take me or my craft seriously since I did not have a medical or nursing degree. If I had become a MD, I know I would’ve received more praise and been less fearful. However, if I had become an MD I would have been dishonoring myself and relying on external validation to keep me afloat.
Choosing to become a holistic health practitioner and practice outside of conventional medicine is one of the riskiest things I have ever done. However, risk taking is usually one of the best ways to grow. Reiki forced me to focus on what’s inside, something I had never done before.. Once I continually practiced Reiki on both myself and others, the doubts began to fade. Even though doing my own work of non-conventional medicine and healing is riskier, it is more in line with who I need to be and more in line with true healing. The more risks I take, the more I grow. The more risks I take, the better I become.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand, Advice From Amarachi, was born out of the need to show people what true health and healing looks like. A few years ago, I had to rebuild my body after having a leg injury that did not heal properly. I had to make a choice—was I gonna sulk or was I gonna elevate? During that period, I learned that health is mind, body, and spirit. Therefore, I had to not only rebuild my body, but I also had to rebuild the non-physical aspects of myself. You must treat all, not just the body, when confronting dis-ease. It used to break my heart that I had to spend my time looking for answers and being my own biggest advocate, but that time made me a stronger, wiser woman. I learned that I must take care of myself first and foremost. I also learned that I had the power to save myself. I started meditating daily, affirming my natural abilities, and valuing rest and sleep. As I learned more about myself and my habits, I saw my life upgrade. You can’t move forward without understanding yourself. Once I did that, I started creating concrete plans for how to make visions of becoming a healer a reality.
In my work, I use the knowledge I gained during that time to help others become the best versions of themselves possible. Reiki is a practice of healing and self-discovery. As a Reiki Practitioner and self-development coach, I use the power of positive energy to create an environment for people to connect with their innermost self, and rebalance and restore their personal power. Too many people go through life never engaging with their inner selves. We are constantly on the go. We rarely ever ask ourselves whether the direction we are headed in is really the right direction for us. Reiki calls the individual inward and shows them that everything they ever needed is inside of them. I coach individuals of all backgrounds as they tackle the root causes of issues, experiences, trauma, etc. so that they build healthy practices to last them a lifetime. The more we all start tapping into our inner selves, the better the collective becomes. As more people start reaching their full potential and embracing themselves, the more we all can walk forward in love, awareness, and purpose.
I’m honored to continue the work of my ancestors, whose knowledge of health and self is what I aim to emulate. I look forward to meeting you and I look forward to meeting the healed version of you!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the following people: Esosa E and Gina Cushenberry of The Raw Girl, Ms. Alecia Ross of My Herbal Mystic, Dr. Shanique of IM SHE, and Dr. Ni of The Four Cups and Dr. Liu of AcuWellness Atlanta.
Esosa and Gina gave me lifelong tools that took my health (mind, body, soul) to the next level.
Ms. Alecia showed me the healing power of herbs and taught me that self-love is the foundation of everything.
Dr. Shanique exposed me to the wonderful world of Reiki and energy healing, showing me that everything I ever needed was already inside me.
Dr. Ni and Dr. Liu taught me that the human body is amazing and that we should honor our bodies each and everyday.
All of these women helped me realize my gift of becoming a health practitioner. No amount of words can describe how grateful I am to these women for giving me hope, believing in me, and helping me reclaim my personal power.
