We had the good fortune of connecting with Amantul (Dunna/Rifqa) Muhammad and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amantul (Dunna/Rifqa), we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process of me starting my own business came from me always knowing and wanting to own everything I do. Growing up I wasn’t taught nor did I have immediate examples, but I knew ownership was important. In addition to knowing that, I had ideas and concepts I felt were unique and have yet to be embarked upon, and I wanted to be the reason behind something new and innovative that would have an impact on many people’s lives. And I’ve started accomplishing that with Dunna Daniels Promotions, TEASE Bedroom Etiquette Brand, Battle of the CHEFS LLC, and my extensive portfolio of TV series, short film, musicals and more.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
If I could describe my career, I would say it has been expansive and innovative. Over the years I’ve been able to use my experience in the hospitality industry and knowledge from my collegiate studies in business management marketing to create progressive strategies to assist different companies, including my own personal businesses. My determination to meet my professional goals for companies allowed me to face challenges and create solutions that later allowed me to develop a niche for persevering throughout my personal challenges. My biggest challenge and the most valuable lesson that I’ve learned is that you have to keep going. Even in my failures I believed I just lacked knowledge or experience. And if I really believed in what I was doing, then I would continue to do the work and trust the process. Every brand I’ve created is a unique aspect of me and may the essence and intentions behind what I developed forever be transcended into others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Coming in to the city of Atlanta I would take them to eat for a bite at: -Breakfast at Barney’s
-Rosie’s Cafe
-Virgil’s Kitchen
-Rock Steady
-Sage Woodfire Tavern Perimeter
There’s also many attractions for day and night, I would definitely recommend:
-The Third Spot
-Westside Motor Lounge
-LOA Rooftop during season
-Painted Pin
-Red Phone Booth
-Atlantucky Brewery
Or get tickets to Braves, Hawks or Falcons game.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Most High, My mother, immediate family, My father and close friends. The brands and companies that have supported and participated with my businesses.
