We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I saw a need in my community for more notaries that is inclusive to all people in need of notary work also know As signing agents. I wanted a business that not only offer notary service’s but a business that is will diverse, And to add my beloved grandmother played a huge inspiration with me starting my business whom its named after Roselee “rose notary service’s atl”.

I do have a budget. The budget is I make sure I’m not going over my profit margins. I keep a vision board \ notebook to keep track. Im old school haha . As far as my personal finances I’m very goal oriented I think about my needs vs my wants. my lifestyle and spending decisions are as follows. I placed my wants over my needs in my daily life in which in turn helps my business as they go hand and hand, to insure that my business goals that I have created for my self as an Entrepreneur are met. In which allows me to put a cap on unnecessary spending when it comes to my business.

Risk taking has played a huge part in my business. I believe some risks are nessary when trying to achieve your business goals, in order to grow and align with the purpose. I take risks as a learning curve and an opportunity to be better. As I took a huge risk to start my business. Leaving a secure 9-5 job that I held for 5 years. In the role that it has played in my life with starting this business with meeting a lot of wonderful people along this journey.

I’m originally from Brooklyn NYC Bedford Stuyvesant and crown heights born and raised . I went to high school in Columbia South Carolina. Then shortly after moved back to NYC. I went to Medgar Evers college and kingsborough community college, later on went to the New York School of Medical and Dental Assistants. My upbringing has played a huge part of who I am today. I grew up what I consider humble. I was raised in a single family home 5 siblings with my mom. Whom I watch struggle and overcome so many trails and tribulations. My grandmother took the role of my second parent whom both Instilled wisdom and values with in me. My father was there physically and had somewhat of impact on my life as well. Where I’m from its hard to escape the concrete jungle. It’s very easy to get distracted and lose hope /focus . I made sure I wasn’t a product of the environment that I was brought up in. I have always had this fire and hustle of wanting better for my self and family. That’s why It’s very important for me to be successful.

The most important factor behind my success is putting yah first the most high and staying focus on the reason I even started Rose Notary Services.

What values matters most to me is making sure my clients are satisfy. Providing great customer services, quality service and going above and beyond.

My work life balance has changed a lot being an entrepreneur never stops. Sometimes I have to give myself a break after a while. I’m always learning about the business, educating my self daily.

My end goal is to be at a level of success we’re i can employee other people and continue to make a positive impact in my community in which will in turn allow other people to do the same.
