We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Proctor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Being my own boss has been a huge lifestyle adjustment for myself and my entire family. In the beginning, I was working full time while also trying to grow my social media following, so there was very little balance. As I have grown my social media following, I was able to quit my job and focus just on my social media and my family! I always put my family first. My girls will grow up faster than I know it, so I want to make sure I am there to support every milestone along the way. However, I also know that being a social media influencer requires me to be “working” even when I am going on a vacation or doing everyday tasks. As I have grown as a wife, mother, and full-time social media influenced, I have learned that a healthy work-life balance is the key to success and longevity of my career path. Ultimately, when you love what you do nothing ever feels like “work,” so I can say that even when I am putting in longer hours I am still enjoying every second of it! I am so thankful to have the opportunities and experiences that were gained by having an online family.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a Creator is nothing short of a challenge each and every day! I strive to provide content that assists my followers in finding brands, companies, products, and businesses that align with my values. Being able to guide other women on their home projects is such an honor. I love to offer my followers— my friends— ways to save as much money as possible on their renovation projects, grocery trips, vacations, and everything in between. My content is curated to be relatable to many different types of lifestyles— moms and girl bosses alike!

Getting to where I am today has been a long, rewarding process. I began social media as a “side-gig” until I could get a good foundation set for myself. Since social media changes every day, I am always kept on my toes and trying to work ahead of the social media trends. I love every minute that I spend creating content for my followers and I am so blessed to share my everyday experiences with so many other amazing people!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

A week in Atlanta isn’t enough to see every inch of what the city has to offer, however I do have quite a few “must see” spots on my typical itinerary for my gal pals that come to visit! To start off with the most iconic Atlanta food spot, I would suggest that everyone visit the Varsity for a chili dog, onion rings, and a frosted orange. Then we would head over to Centennial Olympic Park and make a quick stop at the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coke, and— for my mom friends— the Children’s Museum that’s close by. If you are looking for a multitude of food and shopping options, my favorite “all-in-one” day spots are Ponce City Market and The Battery ATL! Both of these places have a wide variety of food, beverage, and activity options to please anyone. If you are looking for a nice relaxing day, I would suggest taking a visit to The Wood House Day Spa- Avalon— just north of Atlanta, it’s one of the best ways to relax and unwind. For my girls who aren’t a fan of the big city, fast-paced lifestyle, just a short drive west and you can visit one of my favorite parks— Sweet Water Creek State Park. Don’t want to make the drive? The Atlanta Zoo is a great way to connect with wildlife and the outdoors within the city. To end the trip, I would suggest spending the day at Six Flags over Georgia for a thrilling end!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success is dedicated to my family— my loving husband and our two beautiful girls. As a home and lifestyle influencer, a large part of my following comes from other moms who are looking to be a part of an uplifting community of strong women. Being an independent woman, I fully stand by the quote “behind every strong woman are people who love and support her.” Without my husband and girls, I would not have the same drive for success that I have today. Everything I do is with them in mind! Some of my content even is based around kid-friendly content, so it makes my job 10x better when I can bring my girls to work with me!
