We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Elise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business is focused on healing the generational trauma that impacts African Americans through plant medicines, spiritual practices and mindfulness. It is my belief that you do not get what you want, but you get what you feel you deserve. How you feel about yourself on an identity level impacts every action you take, and how you show up in the world. African Americans are ready to heal the generational trauma that has long impacted them. By doing this, we are able to show up more whole in the workplace, in our interpersonal relationships and have a greater impact on the community at large. When we act from a place of love and wholeness, we are able to give our best selves to the world.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud that I took the path least traveled. I’ve always been one to follow my intuition and own inner guidance. Well, let me be honest, sometimes I don’t listen at first, but I always come back around. With my career surrounding spirituality and being a bit more free-thinking, it’s easy to let family members, pastors, friends etc want to steer you towards a different path. It’s not always been easy introducing my products and services to people – you wonder if they’ll judge you, or put you in a box – but I’ve never let this stop me from moving forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s just pretend this is pre-covid days LOL. I would take my friends first to jeju spa to relax. I’d love to watch them experience the joys of the different saunas and pampering activities. I would then take them to Wadada, black woman owned vegan market to try some of the smoothies and maybe grab a candle or two. We would attend a drumming circle and visit stone mountain. I’d take them to little 5 points to experience the culture and we’d roam buckhead for the ambiance.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to shout out my personal trainer turned business partner, Corey Taylor. I am so appreciative of Corey’s dedication to my own personal fitness transformation and have seen first hand how much love and care he gives to each and every one of his clients. Corey and I both share a love for the ‘inside out’ transformation and created a Spiritual Weight Loss program together. He’s also been an incredible business partner and we have both been dedicated to giving love to each client.
