Meet Alyssa Evans | Founder/CEO, Grounded Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Grounded Marketing is a marketing agency focused on building and refining brands from the ground up. We specialize in providing strategic marketing through social media, email campaigns, and events to help businesses connect deeply with their target audiences. At Grounded Marketing, our mission is to ensure that every brand we work with is authentic, relatable, and impactful.
The journey to starting Grounded was deeply personal and faith-driven. Taking a bold step, I leaned into the gifts and skills God has blessed me with to create a platform that empowers others. My entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 14, when I launched Elocin Boutique, an online second-hand store. This early experience taught me the value of creativity, resilience, and understanding market needs.
In 2023, I started The Atlanta Book Club, an experience-based community that has grown to over 300 members. Starting this club really allowed me to understand what it means building communities and creating impactful experiences.
Professionally, I gained invaluable insights working in corporate marketing for a large beauty company. This role gave me so much experience across various marketing disciplines, including social media, brand development, email marketing, and event coordination. The contrast between managing marketing for a large organization and my own ventures gave me a unique perspective—allowing me to bridge the gap between small business ingenuity and corporate strategy.
Grounded Marketing was born out of a desire to blend my passion for marketing with my commitment to supporting entrepreneurs. I wanted to help business owners feel confident in their growth while staying true to their vision. My goal is to empower others, ensuring their brand not only thrives but also resonates with their audience in meaningful ways.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting Grounded started with building a lot of trust in my capabilities. For some reason, I was fearful of starting because I was fearful of it failing. However, I realized that failing is just a part of the process and I shouldn’t fear it. Through any type of failure, you always come out better and wiser as long as you use that opportunity to move forward and not get stuck in it. So one day, I just decided to go for it. I went to a local cafe and within five hours, I came out with the name of the company, Grounded, the vision, and the branding. I created the Instagram and the consultation sign up and launched. I didn’t want to spend too much time thinking about it so I finally decided to just go for it. I feel like entrepreneurship is that for the most part, just be willing to start. That’s the difference between someone with just a great idea and an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs know the risks, but they are willing to take that step anyway.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely would take them to Ponce City Market because you can literally spend a whole day there. They have amazing food options and are just a walk away from the Beltine. There’s also cute stores to shop in, so there’s something there for everyone.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this story to my friends and family who always believe in me and see things in myself that I don’t always recognize. So grateful to God for providing me a community of people to uplift and surround me.
