We had the good fortune of connecting with Alysha Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alysha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am a second-generation tax professional following in my mother’s footsteps. After working in public and corporate accounting, I decided to start my own business because a friend needed my assistance with tax representation because her bank account was cleaned out to a zero balance when she woke up without any notice. I also realized that I could use what I learned from the years of growing young businesses to start a tax and bookkeeping consulting group that can guide other small and medium-sized businesses to do the same. This would also allow me to help existing businesses to know their numbers so that they can make the right business decisions.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I was born in Los Angeles, California and since my Father was in the military we traveled to Italy and then landed in Georgia where my sister and I were raised. My upbringing molded me to who I am today. I love to help owners manage their business, budget, and bag. I empower women business owners to take control of their finances, to break generational curses, and to prevent personal bad habits to be brought into HER business. Since my parents taught me about being diligent and remaining with a positive point of view, I can always accomplish my vision. I also learned to treat everyone with respect no matter where they came from or what financial class they come from. Just because someone looks like they may have it all or as if everything is alright, we never know their story. This journey has not been a smooth ride due to staffing issues in the past, COVID-19, and funding. Over the years I have been able to overcome many of those setbacks due to consistency, diligence, and continuing the provide amazing service. I’ve learned that I can not be a one-woman shop and try to do everything myself. Providing my staff with the resources they need is key to allowing them to provide the service the clients expect is what I make as my focus. As Enrolled Agents, we are prepared to serve and prepare taxes in all 50 states. We’re excited to be a growing team, with experts in small business accounting including QuickBooks, tax representation, tax planning and preparation for individuals and small businesses. Whether you are an individual or business, DTCG has over 55 combined years of extensive knowledge and experience assisting people with their ever-changing needs in a complex economy. Our ideal clients are the ones we help the most by discovering missed opportunities, helping them solve a problem, or saving them time and resources. We know instinctively when this happens; it’s the light bulb you see getting brighter whenever a client is satisfied or pleased with what you offer. This ranges from finding ways to lower the the tax liability, upgrading software so the client becomes more efficient, or aiding in many areas.
