We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison, CEO of Ever After Bridal Atlanta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I would say that ultimately it was of course working in the bridal industry that brought this hidden passion to the surface. But I can vaguely remember attempting to rearrange the pearls and lace on my mothers wedding gown when I was only 4-years-old. This lets me know that I’ve had a passion for bridal long before my work ever began.

I always tell people that I started my journey in the bridal industry was found completely by mistake. God has a funny sense of humor. As I wasn’t necessarily looking for a summer job I was bored at home and decided to apply at a popular bridal store here in the Atlanta area. It was there that I knew I had a hidden passion for bridal and styling bridal parties.

Shortly after working at this bridal store, I was invited to do some additional work as an independent stylist. This means I was invited to provide on-site styling to bridal parties on the big wedding day. One of the things that I noticed was that plus size bride tribe members would struggle to find gowns that were both sized appropriately and flattering. I began to brainstorm on how I could support the underrepresented curvy women searching for flattering gowns. Every woman wants to look and feel beautiful. I think it’s just as important for bridesmaids to feel beautiful as it is for the bride on the wedding day. Ever After Bridal Atlanta was built on the objective to support curvaceous women and women everywhere wanting to look and feel beautiful. Each gown is inspired by a love song because love is just so romantic. Who doesn’t want to fall in love and who doesn’t want to live Happily Ever After?

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ever After Bridal Atlanta is an online Bridal Boutique specializing in sizes 4-26. We support the underrepresented curvaceous ladies by providing gowns that are flattering and sized appropriately. Ever After Bridal Atlanta also has both In-Person and Online Bridesmaids Consultations. During COVID many in-person Bridal Stores have guest limits of no more than 2 guests. Most brides have an average of 5 or more bridesmaids. This provides the opportunity for bridal parties to meet collectively as a group and select the gown together.

What makes me proud is the opportunity to continuously style bridal parties and experience a memorable moment in the lives of the brides. Women have dreamed about their wedding day since childhood and to be able to be included in the journey is a phenomenal experience. Brides want to choose a gown for their bridal parties that they can be happy about for years to come.

In reference to where I am today, I give credit to the work I’ve previously done in the bridal industry. This foundational professional experience gave me the opportunity to formally learn the language of brides. I was able to learn the needs of brides and what they are essentially looking for in a gown. The most interesting thing is that I challenged myself. If there was something that I felt as though I needed to learn I did what I could to do so. I didn’t spend time creating excuses and I treated each bride like royalty. Each bride wants to be treated like a queen. I quickly learned to remain in the queen lane with brides so that I didn’t meet bridezilla. The queen lane is clearly the safe zone.

I would like for the world to know that Ever After Bridal Atlanta promises to give brides a LUXE Experience throughout the entire process. Our goal is to work alongside our bride. Once the bride chooses the venue and has the planner solidified, we can take it from there giving the bride and the bridesmaids a LUXE experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I think an out of towner would enjoy the ambiance Ponce has to offer.

Sunday: Brunch at The Garden Room Atlanta and Sunday outing at Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I always enjoy the scenic views of the Botanical Gardens the themes are phenomenal

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to my late Great-Aunt Lucille. My aunt was a pillar in the Atlanta community. She was definitely inspirational in my life as it relates to the bridal industry. I can remember visiting her house as a little girl she would always have her sewing machine ready to make someone’s life better. She centered her life around supporting others with both looking and feeling beautiful. I am thankful for the love and encouragement that she gave me.

I would also like to Shoutout my mother. My first teacher. My mother taught me the true definition of dedication and determination. Her love has always sustained me even during the toughest times. My mother is my biggest cheerleader and supporter of my dreams. The heart of a mother runs deep. Special thanks to my mom for her encouragement and motivation.
