We had the good fortune of connecting with Allie Fennell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’m naturally creative therefore my career path just felt organic from the start. Having a career in the nail Industry is very different from most careers. I personally feel like it works because of how creative I am, as well as the actual nature of the industry I’ve chosen.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Gel’d Nails is a beauty brand and nail salon focused on nail health. We curate natural oils and creams used for both skin and nail health. We also specialize in Apres Gel X Extensions, which are the worlds first soft gel nail extension system. We are located in Atlanta with pop up shops in Los Angeles throughout the year. Business wise it has been a lot of trial and error to get where I am today. I plan a lot as well as set goals. Doing this has helped me stay on track with my brand vision and where I am as a business today. Gel’d Nails so far has been easy because I am doing something I actually love. All things in life come with problems and solutions. It just hits differently when you love what you do. I would like the world to know that Gel’d Nails is coming to you, and your nails and skin will def thank me later.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I’m in Atlanta right now and the night life is always popping ( covid or not). Therefore, the options are endless. The one place we would have to go would be Alluvia for either the lamb chops or the fried chicken. Definitely a must every time you touch down in the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give my shoutout to my family. Becoming a parent has always motivated me to start when it came to business. My siblings and parents have always been my biggest supporters with any business I own. Last, but definitely not least my spouse who helps with most business knowledge or advice.
