We had the good fortune of connecting with Aliyah Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aliyah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I didn’t really have much of a thought process, being an entrepreneur at first wasn’t in my future plans. I started my business off making gloss, the idea came from me attending Ipsy generation beauty. After launching my gloss business I seen the traffic and audience I received. Everything was a learning process on social media and research.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My entrepreneur journey was not easy at all! I didn’t have a mentor when I begun, everything was through trials and tribulations, had peaks and lows throughout my 3 & 1/2 years journey. I then began my influencer life Feb 2022. I didn’t have a plan or outline of where I wanted to take this new lifestyle but I knew I was made for it. My influencer life began with my curls and I wanted to spread knowledge and my testimony with the world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father is my biggest motivation, he transitioned Feb 2020. I do this for my mom, bestfriends, godkids and family.

And seeing the traffic my business was getting & then decided to expand. Everything was a learning process through social media and research.
