We had the good fortune of connecting with Alissa Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alissa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Learning to navigate life, the hard parts at that! I want to illuminate, guide and inspire people!
Life really shows you your strength when you are faced with conditions that you may consider “unfortunate events”. When I take the time to look over my life, even as a small child I had the qualities of being able to accept life throwing BS my way and not breaking a sweat about it….Okay I actually may break a sweat & a tear when things don’t go my way in life. BUT I tend to not dwell on them and instead acknowledge what has occurred, look forward to things that I can change and gathering what I’ve learned.
I choose to focus on the positive aspects of life & to use what I’ve gone through as motivation. I’ve really always been the kind of person who can find some sort of beauty in the storm.
When my mother was being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer I honestly didn’t even flinch. I’ll never forget she looked over to me and asked me “how are you so strong?” I was deeply saddened by the news but at that moment I chose to be emotionally mature and have faith that things would work out for the better.
I believe My mother considered my strength and ability to see through the storm as a gift! Before she transitioned she called me “my special child” .
At that moment I knew “oh…these are situations sent to break me and here I am looking forward to the positives in life all while still honoring the beauty in the chaos.” That’s a real talent for ya. Which is why I’m sharing my abilities with the world.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a psychic and I provide insight, and enlightenment for individuals who want to grow. Which I believe is really apart of my purpose. Just like with my YouTube channel, I enrich the lives of people through providing psychic readings as well.
While perusing my true calling there were many doubts, fears, and insecurities I had to work through. This wasn’t easy to do but the transmutation process is so beautiful.
I went from a little caterpillar to an astonishing butterfly. Life really taught me that I am not what I’ve been through and that I truly Have gathered the strength, the drive, and motivation to be even more of who I am!
I want the world to know that I am stepping into more of me and that it’s the most beautiful journey that a person could be on. Really standing in my power, honoring my life’s experiences, and rising above it. It was all for the bigger picture of my success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I reside in Chicago, & I really love a good pizza lbs. I definitely recommend trying Giordano’s Deep Dish Pizza! You can never go wrong.
If you really love fried Chicken You can’t leave Chicago without trying Harold’s!!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really want to thank the community aligning with me as we speak for letting me be myself. Thank you in advance.
I also thank Jasmine Moore for giving me guidance, & pure love every step of the way after my mother transitioned. She believed in me!! She helped me realize all of the things that I considered unique to me as really being gifts.
She also showed me how to take my “negative” life experiences and heal from them but also to wear them as badges of life’s circumstances. Those specific moments in life really helped to shape me to be the amazing woman that I am.
People usually get sad thinking about the tough situations they’ve been through. When I look over all the things I’ve been through I just see moments of growth, learning, being faith and strength. She’s taught me to be proud of all life’s circumstances and really own them so they don’t own me. Really going from Victim to now I know how to build a boat and save myself so I don’t drown in life’s occasional storms. I’ve seen rainbows at the end of each one!
