We had the good fortune of connecting with Alison Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alison, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
This is a great question especially post pandemic I guess you could say. During that time, I am sure we all experienced a moment where we felt we weren’t making any progress. Feeling like there was something we wanted to achieve so bad, but having limited resources or access due to the lockdown. One thing that helped me hold my head up high and keep going was the people who support my brand. So to this question, just when you think you have given it all you got and cant find the strength to keep going, think of all the people who are silently cheering you on. Support doesn’t always have to be physically shown. Prayers for support and success show up. I am proof.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Since starting my business in 2019, it has evolved and grown into a multifaceted operation. Beginning with photography, my journey into this field was sparked by a friend’s compliment about my unique perspective on capturing images. That simple encouragement led me to purchase my first semi-professional camera, laying the foundation for the photography side of my business.

My venture into the world of drones was equally unexpected. A friendly bet led to my first drone purchase, and that seemingly small event changed my life. With my Part 107 certification to fly drones commercially, I expanded my business to offer drone services. This addition has led to filming opportunities for movies and national news features, adding significant accomplishments to my portfolio.

In addition to photography and drone piloting, I have also honed my skills in filming and editing, which constitutes the videography aspect of my business. Throughout this journey, there have been ups and downs, but one paramount lesson stands out: always charge what you are worth. My business’s growth reflects my commitment to quality and self-worth, a principle that I uphold in every service I provide.

The combination of photography, drone piloting, and videography allows me to offer a wide range of services that cater to various needs. With a focus on creativity, innovation, and excellence, I am passionate about delivering outstanding results to my clients. Whether it’s capturing a special moment or creating impactful visual content, my business is all about seeing things from different perspectives and transforming them into something extraordinary.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would be crazy not to dedicate this to my parents. To my late father for the talent that I gained from you. I just wish you were here to see me work. To my mother and my pops (BigHurt), thank you both for ALWAYS supporting me in everything I do. Getting random text messages from the two of you means the world to me and I will forever cherish them. I also have an amazing group of supporters, too many to name. Just know I appreciate you all as well!
