We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Wolfe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic career because I understood the power of art. I know how it transcends time and space. I’ve seen the emotion it can invoke and how it can propel someone forward and assist them with healing. Once I realized the influence and mastered my own artistic expression, I wanted to contribute to that so I went for an artistry career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a poet and spoken word artist, song writer, script writer, curator, just all around creative. I am trailblazing a path with my artistry simply because a main stream presence in my field doesn’t currently exist and the combination of my talents is rarely seen if not at all. I got to where I am by putting myself out there, not being afraid to try and failing forward. It was not easy I had a fear of speaking in public so performing was something that frightened me. It was not easy stepping into my gift. I battled with imposter syndrome too once I saw the impact I was making . I grew faster than I expected and didn’t really predict that I’d have such a presence.

I overcame the challenges by affirming myself to be what I desired and just taking chances on me. I’ve learned to trust myself and believe regardless of who doesn’t. I’ve learned the Power of being present and manifestation. I want the world to know that I am awake now. Alexis Wolfe is here. Make room for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whew Chile listen, let me tell you that first of all we gotta get up early cuz y’all know ATL traffic don’t play ! Hahaha . We’re going to breakfast at Atlanta Breakfast Club. Then we gotta hit little five points anytime I bring a friend to ATL I take them there! We’re definitely going to Cumberland Mall and while we over there we’re going to stop by The Three Dollar Cafe because they have the best food in the city! We gotta go to my moms house of course, and after that we’re going to Apache for pure vibes. I like to walk around Atlantic station and just be, just dream . Atlanta is my heart, so we just gotta drive around the city and sight see, get on the Ferris Wheel and see the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The US Army,The SoulFood Poetry Cafe, Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam, The PSV Store, Akine Chanel (Jasmine), Terrance Simpson, Vibeout, Lashelle Tatum, Marcus Finley and Gabrielle Smith (Wolfe). Without these organizations and people, there is no telling where I’d be.

I’d also like to say the book, The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle, 48 laws of Power by Robert Greene and The Power of Imagination by Neville Goddard.
