We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, what do you want your legacy to be?
My legacy, woven from the vibrant threads of Aloha Glamour and the empowering journey of Ms. Black Mississippi 2024, is a tapestry of resilience, empowerment, and transformation. I dream of a legacy that transcends the boundaries of fashion and pageantry, one that leaves an indelible mark of hope, strength, and unity on the heart of every individual it touches.
I envision my legacy as a beacon of light for every woman who has ever doubted her brilliance, for every soul that has navigated the stormy seas of loss and emerged resilient. Through Aloha Glamour, I’ve strived to create more than just a brand; it’s a platform where culture meets style, where every garment tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and the indomitable spirit of the Ghanaian families that bring our visions to life. It’s a testament to the beauty of collaboration, fairness, and the transformative power of supporting one another’s dreams.
As Ms. Black Mississippi 2024, my mission extends beyond the crown. It’s about using this platform to amplify voices that have been silenced, to shine a light on the path of healing for those who have experienced miscarriage, and to inspire a movement of love, acceptance, and diversity. It’s about showing the world that our strength lies in our ability to live life in full color, embracing every hue of our experiences with grace and courage.
I want people to remember me as someone who merged passion with purpose, who saw beauty in diversity, and who believed in the power of unity. My legacy, I hope, will inspire others to weave their own stories of resilience into the fabric of their lives, to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination, and to never forget that they, too, can be agents of change.
In the end, I want my legacy to be a world where Aloha Glamour and the crown I wear are symbols of a journey that inspired others to embrace their true colors, to stand tall in the face of adversity, and to live a life that resonates with the beauty of empowerment and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m thrilled to share that my journey towards Ms. Black USA 2025 is deeply intertwined with the essence of my business, Aloha Glamour. The convergence of these two significant parts of my life has given birth to a powerful and heartfelt platform: “Living In Color: Empowering Miscarriage Awareness & Resilience.”
Aloha Glamour has always been more than just a business to me. It’s a celebration of culture, a vibrant homage to the richness of life, and an expression of the resilience that defines us. It represents the beauty of embracing every color of our experiences, the bright hues of joy and the darker shades of grief and loss. This philosophy is at the core of “Living In Color,” where we aim to shine a light on miscarriage awareness, breaking the silence and stigma that too often surrounds it.
I am most excited about how “Living In Color” extends the mission of Aloha Glamour into the realms of support, healing, and community empowerment. Through this platform, I am committed to creating spaces where stories of loss are met with compassion, understanding, and hope. It’s about transforming our shared experiences of miscarriage into a tapestry of resilience, offering resources, support, and a hand to hold for those navigating the path of healing.
“Living In Color” is a call to action to acknowledge the spectrum of our experiences and to stand together in solidarity and strength. It’s a commitment to empowering individuals and communities to speak openly about miscarriage, to seek and provide support, and to celebrate the resilience that carries us forward.
As I step onto the stage of Ms. Black USA 2025, I carry with me the stories, hopes, and dreams of those touched by miscarriage. I am dedicated to using this platform to advocate for change, to spread awareness, and to foster a world where no one has to walk the journey of loss alone. Together, through Aloha Glamour and “Living In Color,” we can build a future where every color of our experiences is honored, where resilience is nurtured, and where every individual feels seen, heard, and supported.
