We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Long and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my perseverance. I have experienced some heartache throughout life, as we all have, however, I did not let that stop me. I always tell myself, “giving up is not an option, you have a Princess looking up to you.”

Not only is my daughter, Princess Mari, looking up to me, now I have other young girls and women that are inspired by my story and it is truly what keeps me going. I find joy in inspiring others with my story because if I can do it, they can do it too.

As I always say, “Keep rising”!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Queen and Princess Productions houses Thee Princess Way, Thee Princess Way started with lip gloss, nail polish, and bonnets, we are now a full service boutique for women and girls. We offer exclusive accessories, clothing, and purses. We also offer lip gloss workshops to young girls through TPW University, where we show young girls how to make lip gloss and potentially start their own lip gloss brand.

The energy/customer experience that Princess Mari and I have is what sets us apart from others, we are very welcoming to new comers and we are always looking to add others to our Tribe!

What makes me proud is how far we have come in just one year; we have traveled the world to source inventory, attended a multitude of events, and what is the most exciting is Princess Mari and I get to do it together!

As mentioned our perseverance is what got us this far. As we all do, we took losses along the way, however, they didn’t stop us, we took time to learn from them and tried a different approach. This journey has not been easy, it has been fun though! The main lesson I take on a daily basis is overnight success isn’t reality for many and I’ve learned to find joy in the journey, find joy in the day to day, simply because the lessons learned in business can take you so far, not only in business, also in life.

I would love the world to know that the reason I work so hard is because I know how it is to be without. I also know how it is to have it all and it be taken away from you. Life is a journey and I wake up with a heart full of gratitude daily because life is not promised. Soon I will be ready to tell my full story, maybe in a book (shameless plug)! I have came so far and to only be 25, I have a lot to offer the world and I am rising one day at a time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Princess Mari, my 8 year old daughter! Princess Mari loves anything that’s pink, princess, or Proud Family. She has a HUGE personality just like mommy and loves her family with all her heart. She is kind, sweet, resilient, and stylish. Everywhere she goes, she makes a new friend!

I thank My God daily for allowing me to be her mommy and I wouldn’t see Thee Princess Way without Thee Princess herself!
