We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My first thought about my brand was self love. As a young black female that suffers horrible anxiety, trauma, etc I had a hard time trying to feel good about myself and getting back into the things that made me happy. I wanted to sell/create things that would make EVERYONE feel good inside and out , from our bath teas and make up items to our fun nostalgia themed resin accessories.

What should our readers know about your business?
I feel like what sets me apart from other businesses is that I target at the fun memorable moments in life (the themes I chose for each drop) I try to pick themes, older tv shows, and characters that people forget and then remember once they see them in items like our heart statues. My business of course started out as super small starting with me only making lipglosses, but I knew I could do way more than that. I soon realized the power of epsom salt, lavender , etc for relaxation and during quarantine I started to learn how to do make up , then that’s when I started to sell eyelashes, different glosses, my eyeshadow pallets, and other make up products. Everything I did was not easy at all, at the time I worked a part time retail job while in school so my pay was very low and everything that I put in my business I paid for all by myself , it was a struggle but I made it each and every time. The lessons I learned were to alway make time for you and your business and always keep moving forward, when I started out I paid so much attention to other things and helped other people to the point my own business wasn’t looking the way I wanted it to so I had to regroup and everything so my business could be the way I wanted it to be and represent what I wanted it to represent and not what everyone else wanted for my business. I want my brand to show the world that even though we’re getting older we can always have happy memories and to always have fun , also to always love yourself and to put your own happiness first over everything , to feel beautiful inside and out.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend to places like whiskey moon and the culture shop for spiritual purposes, to eat I’d take them to Doce Taqueria , Primanti Brothers, Carmis, and for dessert I’d take them to Fudge Farm for milkshakes. To go hang out at night I’d say Skybar, Cosmos, and Soldi. But to just walk around I’d say a hike through Ohiopyle, Randyland, the Andy Warhol museum, and the Color park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a big shout out to my inspiration , my younger cousin / fake daughter Ariah Joy.
