We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Earley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, how do you think about risk?
Being an entrepreneur is all about taking risk. If you look up the definition of “Entrepreneur” it’s a person who takes on a risk to operate a business. To accomplish anything in life there are risk you have to take. When I look at risk I look at something I have to give up or sacrifice to achieve a goal. In my case I’ve risked time and money for years in order to put myself in a position to win. When it comes to risk I feel like the only way to find out if something will work or not is by taking the risk. Kind of like that saying “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” you never know if something works or not if you don’t try.

What should our readers know about your business?
Allure By Lexx was started when I was a Sophomore in high school. I started as a hair braider, but over the years I decided to expand my business to more styles such as wigs, quickweaves, locs, and men’s hair styles as well. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to customer service and creating a welcoming environment for everyone! Now it’s so hard to find a stylist that will let you come in and be you without having to follow a handbook of rules. Let’s bring back the days when the stylist remained the stylist and let the clients come and unwind. I aim to change the game with my customer service and I will also be introducing my New brand The Hairstyle Vault very soon to the world! I plan to cater all things hair related to my clients such as accessories, hair bundles, and other items that will be on hand and for purchase on my website.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city include Ponce City Market, Little Five Points, and I love the views in midtown. A few good food spots I love are Blu Seafood House, Rosie’s Cafe, and Orient Express.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a special shout-out to my family and friends who supported my business over the years since 2018. When I started this journey my confidence in myself was low but my community built me up and cheered me on throughout the years. I also would love to thank my Entrepreneur friends such as Pinks Artistry( the most talented nail tech ever!I) Eliseluxe Cosmetics, and my cousin who is also one of the best Makeup artist in the city Pearadise Beauty! These three have supported my business the most from the likes, shares, retweets, and the encouragement over the years.  love to feel the love from other entrepreneurs in my community!
