Meet Alexia Dubois | Founder & Owner of Shop Amour USA

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexia Dubois and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Moving from France to Atlanta, I was struck by the lack of high-quality, natural-fiber children’s clothing that combined style and comfort. In France, dressing children is about elegance and ease, using breathable fabrics like cotton and linen. I wanted to bring that philosophy here, leading me to start Shop Amour USA—a boutique that offers French-made, Oeko-Tex certified children’s clothing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Amour started from a very personal frustration: as a French mom living in the U.S., I struggled to find children’s clothes that combined quality, effortless style, and natural fabrics like 100% cotton or linen. Most options were either too casual or overly commercial, lacking the subtle elegance I grew up with. So I decided to create a boutique that brings authentic French children’s fashion to American families — clothes that are not only beautiful but sustainable, ethically made, and comfortable for little ones.
American families are fascinated by France and its lifestyle — the effortless chic, the emphasis on quality over quantity, and the art of mindful living. As a true French mom, I was able to see what was missing in the U.S. market and bring that unique French touch to American parents who share this appreciation.
What sets Amour apart is our commitment to transparency and care at every step: all our pieces are Oeko-Tex 100 certified, fair trade, and brands that share our values. I’m proud to offer parents an alternative that respects both their children’s skin and the planet.
Starting a business in a new country was far from easy. There were cultural differences, and the challenge of building trust with American customers unfamiliar with French brands. I overcame these hurdles by staying true to my vision, listening carefully to my customers, and using my own story as a bridge between the two worlds.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity resonates. When you genuinely believe in what you offer and communicate that with clarity and passion, you find your tribe.
Above all, I want the world to know that Amour is more than a clothing boutique — it’s a movement toward mindful parenting and sustainable fashion. It’s about celebrating the beauty of childhood with intention and respect.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d plan a mix of rooftop bars, amazing restaurants, outdoor adventures, cultural highlights, and a taste of the city’s vibrant spirit — all the best Atlanta has to offer.
Day 1: Start with brunch at La Bilboquet, a chic French bistro that brings a bit of Paris to Atlanta. In the afternoon, stroll along Canton Street in Roswell for charming shops and galleries. For dinner, head to Monkey 68 (Roswell), a sushi spot housed in a beautiful traditional Southern house — nice cocktails and sushis
Day 2: For a real Southern experience, lunch at Swam House for classic low-country flavors. Later, visit the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park — a powerful and inspiring place to connect with history.
Day 3: Time for some hiking! Take on the famous Stone Mountain for a workout with a view — the panoramic scenery at the top is worth every step. Finish the day with dinner at little bear
Day 4: Explore some of Atlanta’s coolest rooftop bars — Ponce City Market’s Skyline Park offers fun, drinks, and games, or try The Roof at Ponce City Market for stunning city views.
Day 5: Take a walk along the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail, a historic rail corridor transformed into a multi-use trail connecting neighborhoods and parks. It’s a great way to experience the city’s energy and urban renewal.
Day 6: Indulge in Tex-Mex at Bartaco, then catch sunset drinks and cocktails at the stylish LOA Rooftop,

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without hesitation, my shoutout goes to my husband. He’s the reason I moved to Atlanta, and the person who constantly reminds me why I started Amour in the first place. His support — emotionally, practically, and logistically — has been unwavering, especially through the challenges of launching a business in a new country while raising a young family.
I also have to recognize my close circle of mom friends, both in France and here in the U.S. Their feedback, encouragement, and honesty helped shape Amour into what it is today. They were the first to say, “We need this too,” when I told them about the lack of high-quality, effortlessly chic kids’ clothing here.
And finally, my children — Chloé, Marc, and my stepson Emmitt. They inspire me daily. The whole idea behind Amour started with dressing them in clothes that felt like home. Every piece I curate is chosen with them in mind.
